It takes 12 candy to evolve a pidgey or a weedle and 50 to evolve a ghastly.

Gastly Numbers:

You need 25 Gastly candies for an evolution.

A spooky Lucky Egg evo spree is about 80 Gastly evolutions with the new system.

That's 25 * 80 = 2000 candies.

One Gastly is 6 candies + 2 for transfer.

You need to save about 80 Gastlies to do the actual evos.

So you need to catch:
80 Gastlies + { (2000 - (6 * 80)) / 8 } Gastlies
= 80 + 190 Gastlies
= 270 Gastlies
This is also ignoring the candies you get from transferring afterwards, and evolution candies.

But the important thing is that a good ballpark to know when to start saving Gastlies is when you hit about 1500 candies. Once you get 80 Gastlies from there, you should hit 2000 candies for your evo spree.

Sure it'd be nicer to do this with Pidgeys but why say no to a ghastly variety of evo fodder?

There are way less spoofers than people claim (probably just having their ass kicked by a car fag/ gps drifter) if there were that many spoofers I wouldn't be holding that gym in a sketchy area so easily.
