This is why you instincts can't hold gyms. If there is a gym of your team near your house and people put pokeomns in it you put a strong pokemon there and train it to max. When someone knock out some of the weaker ones you train it again so people will put stronger ones until it is full of strong pokemons.

same, I'm already hoarding candy for pokemon that are going to get new evos, I have ~300 Zubat, ~110 Poliwag, ~150 Eevee, ~80 Slowpoke, ~120 Horsea and ~140 Oddish candy

What I'm worried about is that Niantic might make Espeon and Umbreon only available through "friendship" walking or something, which means we will have to walk Eevee and Golbat a shitton just to evolve them. My assumption would be that it will be the 10 candy mark like when Pikachu climbs on your shoulder but I hope they just make it so evolving them is less of a hassle. Crobat's CP cap for Gen II looks promising as does Kingdra's so looking forward to that.

Is it, though? It can be assumed trainer battles won't even be here within 6 months to a year given hanke said it wasn't even on their roadmap. All legendaries are already existing the game, they just have no way to be acquired so they're creativity and logistically gated there instead of content wise. And get this, I was watching a video of X and Y only to notice POKEMON GO USES THE SAME MODELSs so they don't even have to bother paying people to work on those 3D assets past importing them to Unity and touching up light effects and shit.

Whatever efforts they're dumping on cheat prevention can't possibly eat up all their resources since they ought to have multiple specialists that can't work on that. At this point, the main thing holding them back is their insane drive to release the game in every fucking country of the world and prioritizing other weird shit players don't want.

Pokesearch was nice to use from home to search for nests because it has a big area and shows accurately the 100% of pokemon in that area, FPM normally fails showing all the pokemon in the searched range. Also shows spawnpoints and specific times when the pokemons will spawn.

Neither better nor worse; just different. I preferred pokesear.ch because it scanned slower/wider areas and I could get a feel for a town I was thinking of visiting and also hunt for nests (or confirm/deny the crowdsourced ones on the Silph Road atlas.) Or for scoping out an area that I knew I would reach in 10 minutes, then go back to catching randoms until I get there.

FPM scanned only in one very small area per click - a little less useful for getting an idea of what's out there on a large scale, but absolutely fantastic for assisting in tracking down a mon on Niantic's broken sightings window.

Both are fantastic. Different tools for different uses.

You need to not put it in a gym. It's easy for an opponent to kill, it will always be at the bottom rung of the gym and be the first thing kicked out and won't get you coins, and it makes it almost impossible for your own team to train the gym up because of its high HP and low CP. As-is, a lv 40 Tyranitar can range from 3213 CP to 3653 CP, and 158 HP to 169 HP according to my calculator.

Arcanine and treeman have higher CP caps, if you can get good IV ones then you are good to go as long as you can keep pumping them.
Top 5 is : Dragonite, snorlax, arcanine, lapras and treeman (on that order).
As you level up you will notice those difference making a huge difference when it comes to what place do you occupy on a gym.

Unfortunately not. Chansey's base stats are are ATT 40 DEF 60 STA 500 - compare with, well, anything, fuck, an unevolved Bulbasaur with ATT 126 DEF 126 STA 90.

On the 10th rung, as run by the AI, even a 100% Chansey will do about half the damage to an opposing player that anything else will, and will take about double damage that anything else will. A 100% Chansey starting at 40/60/500 ends up at +15/+15/+15 for 65/75/515 at best and is instantly consumed by an opposing 0% Vaporeon that starts off at 186/168/260.

In real-world terms, a 1000-CP babyvape can beat a 400CP Chansey anytime. Never mind the 2000CP fightingvapes an opponent will actually bring when kicking it out of the gym.

Too bad, but hey, that's Chansey. She's a healer not a fighter. Keep her around as a rare, use her as a great prestiger, and if you're still playing when/if Niantic ever gets past recoloring 2/5/10km eggs and fucking with their API to prevent us from tracking pokemon, you'll have her around to evolve to Blissey.

Then don't defend with it. I personally find Gyarados to have excellent bulk as an attacker, and while Bite is unSTAB'd it's still a really quick fast attack that no opponent apart from fighters and fairies resist, and those are rare anyway. Not getting Hydro Pump sucks since even resisted hits takes off a nice chunk, but I have another one with Dragon Pulse and I often find myself just biting away since you're chipping off the opponent while they don't do nearly as much back to you.
