Seriously speaking, while I never thought Amour would be endgame, I thought it get good closure. Maybe it will, and maybe I'm jumping the gun. But the fact that Kenny had his entire final episode devoted to his crush on Dawn...whereas Serena's crush on Ash was pushed more and doesn't seem to be getting addressed that much at all (if any) is very strange. I mean they even addressed May/Drew a bit in Drew's final episode.

So I'm a retired Icelandic psychologist. I recently started watching this show and I figured I'd put together some in-depth character studies on what I found about the 4 main characters so far. I'd encourage y'all to give it a read as I'm pretty sure there's at least one thing you haven't pondered before, and I always thought that knowing and studying the characters is half of what makes watching a tv show fun. However note that I really only covered episodes 1-40 in this study.

Sophocles
Let's start by taking a look at his father since I believe his father is very pivotal in how Sophocles is the way he is, despite how little we know about him. The first thing to note is that his father often dresses up in a bizzare outfit. He seems to do so in secret. The reason for this is that this outfit is actually their families traditional tribal uniform. I've deduced that Sophocles has not always lived in Alola. No, he was actually an only child, who grew up in the north wilderness with his father before moving to Alola. He comes from a tribe of cannibals who are very uncivilized. This explains his dads tendency to dress up in his tribal suit every so often and go out...roaming. And also why he doesn't want anyone else to know about it. The reason they moved to Alola, of course, was because Sophocles is so terrible at running. His dad figured that he wouldn't make it that long if they stayed amongst the other cannibals so he decided to move to Alola for his own good where Sophocles then picked up the art of Science.

Just finished playing the demo. I really like the amourshipping reference that they've put in the game though. I wonder if the reference will carry on to the full game. I guess we can thank Junichi Masuda for that if he's the one who brought the idea. The games seem to have a heavy connection to the anime since Yellow with the inclusion of Ash-Greninja and a letter (possibly from Ash himself) so I wouldn't be surprised of Ash did appear in the games.

Maybe I know why Serena hasn't confessed all this time. She knew Ash was a dense brick and she knew if she confessed too early she could get rejected. So she just waits and hopes that Ash started to develop feelings for her. And finally, the last episode she felt like Ash developed some so I think:

I was talking with Dephender cause i find something weird on summary.. it said,
"Ash heads to the airport in order to say goodbye to the Kalos region he traveled through with Clemont and the others and return to the Kanto region."

but i see most summary from the old episode saying "Serena and the others" so its weird for me it mentioning Clemont name first..

That's it, I quit watching the Pokemon Anime. I have been a really big fan of the Pokemon Anime for 16 years, I loved the concepts of trainers, Pokemon battles etc. and was emotionally involved a lot in this Anime but the way the writers have ended the XY series has made me lose interest completely in it. First they made him lose the League despite him coming so close for the first time, then they made Serena part ways with Ash despite all the build up on Serena's crush and admiration for Ash, then they released Ash's most powerful Pokemon, his only Mega equivalent for a nonsense reason. And not to mention Ash will be reset to a noob in the upcoming SM anime where he will have horrendous goofy looks, go to school and not challenge gyms and compete in a League. Goodbye Pokemon anime and damn you, writers! I guess I will now resort to reading Pokemon fanfictions!

There's no hope. They will be forced to revert back to the XY (not Z) formula because the fan demand for better battles will increase a fucking lot. The gag festival will bomb very hard, just like that replacement gag anime who replaced Pokemon when it was put on a long hiatus because of the Pokemon Shock. One thing is seeing a festival of gags in a manga, but seeing that in an anime series doesn't work well. The only option is if he is forced to win that league because the safety of a region or the world depends on the person who won the tournament. It's simple anime logic. Yusuke never won a tournament with the exception of that one where he fought Toguro in the final match, Goku never won a single Tenkaichi Budokai with the exception of that one where Piccolo Jr was aiming to kill him and he had to win in order to stop his revenge onslaught.
