Considering Pokemon as a whole, I say we got a pretty satisfying ending, Serena chosing her own journey, Greninja with Zygarde, etc. Of what it was possible, we got the best ending. Unless you were naive enough to think Ash would marry Serena and settle in Kalos or something like that.

I like both before and after. That's the problem with many people here, they submit every aspect to the battle parts. And I know, Pokemon is about battling, but the show is an adaptation, it doesn't have to be 1:1. It can expand the world and show more things that just battles, gyms and medals.

I'm expecting a Pokken port, with Japan still releasing characters for it in the arcades and all it makes sense.

And while it's not entirely like the 3DS you can tell that the mobile factor of the switch is one of the things Nintendo REALLY emphasized in the trailer.

Almost like they're saying "Hey! Look at this, you can take it on the go and play here, here and here! It's just like a hand held device!"

When you think "on the go" with Nintendo you think of the DS. They'll be wanting to change that focus to the Switch so it's looked at as the "At home and on the go device!".

If the 3DS is competing with it, people will be less inclined to buy the Switch if all they want is a portable gaming device. And since the Switch is all about cartridges, having backwards compatibility with the 3DS games makes sense. It's basically an increased in size DS without the lower screen.
