The way I do it is that I just keep farming Pokemon.

Eventually my inventory is going to fill up but the potion to ball ratio will keep going up because I'm constantly spending balls while not spending potions. When I run out of balls doing this after like an hour or two, it'd be like 200 potions, 80 revives, and no balls.

the two dragonites in gyms are evolved dratinis, the other one is pic related

i was running a map covering the whole city and my city spawned a very fucking high amount of dragonite and snorlax spawn so I had tons of dratini candy (seems like I have caught more dragonites than dratinis) and I had like 200 snorlax candy (used to catch 1 or 2 per day).

Anybody have the numbers for the new evolution animation times? Somebody posted some napkin calculations in a previous thread before explaining how they came up with 80+ evos for a Lucky Egg but I can't find it in the archive so I guess it was more than a week ago.

Currently sitting at 76 evo candidates with some dex entries and I want to know how many more I should get. Mainly because I have like 5 ultra balls and 2 pokeballs left but I can't restock until tomorrow so I'm wondering if 80 is good enough or if I have to wait until tomorrow.

Level 20-30 is also the large majority of the game. It takes you far more XP to get from 20 to 30 than it does to get from 1 to 20, and most people don't get past 30.

For me level 24-25 is the best though. 20-23 was kind of a dry grindfest where I never caught anything new, whereas I'm now getting enough candies for a bunch of evolution, so my dex is finally advancing again.

When you guys battle gyms, does the CP of the Pokemon inside scale down to yours? Because mine doesn't. I thought it was because I use ~1k CP mons to battle gyms, but I tried with six pidgeys from 150cp down and nothing changed, with the gym being level 8, starting with a 1300 Pinsir up to a 2900 Dragonite.

lures don't do as much as you think. More people in an area spawn bigger stuff. Using a lure at random isn't a good way to get good stuff.

What i'd suggest, get two or three friends who are still playing, take out a strong gym which has been around for a while, drop a lure when the gym hits level 4 or something, and power up your new gym. grab a beer/food with the lure spinning, you don't really have to focus on the game.

there might be set drop rates but the items from each group seem randomised

1. if they re-did the CP formulae to factor speed and things properly your abra would be updated.
your abra has a set attack,speed,def,stamina which will stay the same, but the CP would be adjusted based on the new formula

2. they're not likely to do so any time in the near or far future

I was considering setting up a VM to monitor my phone's sightings periodically using airdroid and do some feature recognition image processing to detect the pokemon and notify me and map them based on my known spawn locations

but my phone would overheat if I kept it going constantly like that and it doesn't feel worth the effort at the moment

pokemon go pokemon have 4 stats (attack and special attack are combined [poorly]into just 'attack', defence, speed, stamina (which becomes hp))
not sure if special defence is factored into defence

pokemon go pokemon IVs are only for 3 stats: attack, defence, stamina
you can't even get speed IVs, thats how much they don't care about speed

may have gotten some things wrong but i'm pretty sure thats how it all is

Niantic fucks them up into three: Stamina, Attack, Defense

HP -> Stamina

Attack, Special Attack, Speed -> Attack

Defense, Special Defense, Speed -> Defense

Then they throw Stamina, Attack, Defense into a formula to calculate CP.

This is why sweepers and specialist Pokemon are in the shitcan. Speed has virtually no impact on combat power, and if a Pokemon has a really good Attack stat but bad Special Attack stat, it'll have a shit PoGo Attack stat. See: Chansey, Alakazam, Gengar, etc.

I said "screw it" and did an evo spree anyway. Turns out 76 was enough. Mainly because I sort of flubbed an evo a couple times and the game dropped connection once near the end and wasted a couple minutes. Got 56 + 13 evos so that's about 69 evos + dex entries. That's pretty bad. I need to suck less at evolving.

Wasn't that great for moveset results either.. First treeman was Seed Bomb, all three Nidokings got Megahorn, my perfect IV Rhydon got fucking Megahorn, perfect IV Marowak got Rock Smash / Dig, the Cloyster didn't get Blizzard (this is like my fifth Cloyster), only one Bite / Hyper Beam Raticate, no Bug Bite / Bug Buzz Butterfree again, the Victreebel doesn't have Razor Leaf with its Solar Beam so it's only questionably useful against vape armies, my Parasect got Cross Poison instead of Bug Buzz or Solar Beam, my Sandslash has Rock Tomb, my first Electrode got fucking Tackle, and I still can't tell if the fucking Slowbro is 90%+ or not.

I got a couple good ones like a Bite / Hyper Beam Raticate, a Water Gun / Hydro Pump Starmie and Seadra, and a Pound / Hyper Beam Wigglytuff, but these are all consolation prizes and dupes. All the ones I was hoping would have good movesets don't, so I guess I'm just going to go back to dumping Star Dusts on space fillers instead of real battlers.
