Well, for one thing, the atmosphere is different. They don't let the amourshippers take hold and discuss all Poke-waifu's, not just one in general. The way they are making Lillie kinda mysterious makes me think she might actually be an Ultra Beast.

Aya Matsui has written key episodes in regards to Ash's Treeko/Grovyle/Sceptile. She has written the pre-Gym school episode in AG (Roxanne), as well as a few Contests and Watson's battles. She has also written the Max episode about Ralts, Brock getting Bonsly and the reunion of Ash's old and new Pokémon at the Kanto Battle Frontier. For DP, she has written the Chimchar episode dealing with his new experience under Ash as well as the aftermath of Ash's defeat against Paul. She also did the Steam Boat Willie filler episode and Brock getting the egg. For XYZ, she wrote the Serena cross dressing episode and the Sawyer vs Tierno episode. And she wrote the Mystery Dungeon episodes and one Pikachu short.

She's written a lot of great episodes, including the Serena crossdressing episode in XY.
