I don't think it is. I started last year and I've found it boring almost entirely. I just build shit decks to fuck around with because I don't enjoy Scizor, Mewtwo or anything currently popular. I only really enjoy the trading and deck building aspects of the TCGO.

We should organise some memedeck group. Just a bunch of us with non-ex or shit ex decks that focuses on synergy and general fuckery playing against each other. I'm sure there will be issues with what's allowed, but I know I would enjoy it more than the current meta.

No. It doesn't do this kind of thing, because it doesn't have a clause like Hex Maniac's "Until the end of your opponent’s next turn..". Instead it happens immediately as you play it. So it only hits any continuous effects that are happening as you play it. Notable ones include the ones tied to the attacks of Toad, Regice, Jolteon, Glaceon, Giratina, Jirachi, anything that says the opponent cannot retreat etc. Also interestingly, playing it on your own pokemon who "cannot use this attack next turn" to allow them to.

It doesn't do special conditions because while inflicting the conditions IS an effect of the attack, having the condition is not. You already got inflicted by the time you play the card. Things like the Mewtwo example, you played the card before you made the attack so the two don't interfere with each other. It breaks a lock, not creates one.

I have no clue how or why you came to this conclusion. It sounds like you're not really understanding what's being said here.

The value of a card is decided exclusively by what people are willing to pay for it. Period. No asterisk, no exception.

If you can consistently get 1 pack for 1 VS Seeker, then that is the value of the card. This isn't an opinion. It's not up for argument.

It's a pretty solid deck, but very inconsistent due to the amount of low count moving parts, and also difficult to even play correctly. You need luck on your side to make the most of it. On the plus side, most decks only run a single Ranger and in the Client meta you'll find tons of people forgo even that, so you can auto-win many games. Even if they run one, you force them to use it over and over in lieu of a different supporter, and if they don't one shot you when they get their chance, you can heal off the damage with Rough Seas, or recyle mons to your bench. But that in turn opens you to Lysandre/Escape Rope plays. Whens the last time you saw a deck run more than one copy of escape rope though? So it can do real well so long as you're good enough to play it right.

One copy of Magearna can keep your Rainbow energies safe but not the DCE, plus is decent against all the Fairy in the Meta right now. If you are running Mew in the deck, it gives an extra more powerful than 70 attack to leech off of.

It's a solved format and the top-tier decks are either expensive or a bit hard to come by thanks to scarcity.

The decks already give you 4x Oak, but you're still going to need to get many other staples: Junk Arm, Smeargle, Cleffa, and a bunch others almost require you offer RS to get them for a reasonable price.

There are some okay budget options, though, and you can cut a few corners.

Mega Ray is more consistant, sets ups and sweeps turn 1 and has better chances of recovering from a Parallel City since it doesnt need to evolve.

Rainbow Road is way slower but wins the prize trade because it only gives 1 prize, it also doesnt get walled by Giratina.

If the meta stays mega focused I think Ray is better because it can get the 6 prizes in the first 3 turns when you go second.
If we start seeing more non-ex pokemon then Rainbow Road is the better choice.

People still use normal energy quite regularly. One of the best decks in the current standard doesn't run a single SE as far as I'm aware. It is mainly popular because it discards special energy, though. It's just that there are cards dealing damage based on energy attached, sometimes require only colourless, and double dragon is almost essential for setting dragon type cards up because they need 2 different types of energy.

Lurantis literally has an attack that attaches 2 basic energies from discard to any pokemon, and another that OHKO Lycanroc.

I really think that Lycanroc is not that strong, also I don't see the relation of any of those to Lycanroc, since Lycanroc is an extremely low damage pokemon that can take out 1 energy per turn on the active. Unless you are implying that every control pokemon is equally good. For example, Seismitoad effect is much stronger without to mention you can use it with only 1 DC, call me when they print a hammer that stops the opponent from playing items for 1 turn. And Trevenant hits for effective 100 with the same amount of energies attached, without mentioning that blocking items is a much stronger effect.
