Is the game fucked or something right now?
For 3 games none of my pokemon's abilities have worked despite the other player not having any ability active or stadium card or trainer played.

I threw down a haunter and it didn't confuse them, I put on a fighter belt and it behaved as if my pokemon still had their original HP, I took down an EX and only got to draw one card.

All times I made super sure they didn't have anything in effect, on one game it was the third turn and they hadn't even played any trainers yet.

First, remind yourself that Xerneas Break benefits from any energy, meaning DDE has no inherent benefit over DCE.
Then, ask yourself why exactly you're choosing Giratina over any other DCE-slot Pokemon.
Giratina is obviously an amazing card this format, but is it really the best partner for Xerneas Break? Is Xerneas Break the best partner for Giratina? If the answer to either of those is no, then you know why your winrate isn't much higher.

How many packs do you have?

I saved for the month and was able to trade for a shaymeme-ex. First I posted with 40 packs but no one traded for it so won a few more tournaments and finally put up an offer someone took. It was a bunch of mixed packs from tourny wins. 51 packs + 4 chests.

Honestly its a bit of a grindfest to save up enough packs but its so helpful in games. Its a bit painful to let go of so many packs but unless you want to buy roaring skies packs with coins and hope you get one its the only way.

Just run a raticate break deck, its the best vs ex decks if you dont have many good cards. Easy as hell to obtain also.

I think that since the maintenance bugs have definitely started appearing.

Just played against a guy running Talonflame. It was his only Pokemon in his starting hand and it made him mulligan. Next time round it let him play it though. Maybe the game just checked for basics first time and didn't detect any and so ignored Talonflame's ability.

The only reason Xern Break is good at all in the current format is because it can run with Giratina and lose pretty much nothing that makes it good.

It can handle every threat in the current format without being automatically shut out, it can pretty comfortably also be set up within 2 turns or so and begin swinging for tons of damage while only having a really bad matchup against Scizor or other Xerneas variants (Rainbow Road mainly I'd say.)

If you don't run Gira with XernBreak then you're missing the whole point of what makes it good in that its versatile to every threat right now.

Also I'm not even a XernBreakfag, I run rainbow road because I honestly think rainbow road has more potential in the long run. I just need to figure out some way to make it consistent. I feel if there were more EX cards with dual types then it'd be better but for now I think I'm just gonna keep running dual type normal pokemon.

Lucario basically has a shit matchup against everything except rainbow road which it has like a 60-40 or so matchup with in its advantage.

it's not that bad, 4 pokepuff allow for plenty of shenanigans with your opponent's hands, especially if you add buddy buddy rescue to get smth back from the discard (either just killed or discarded with ultra ball/sycamore)

puzzle of times allow for a second buddy/pokepuff combo, and teammate can make it happen late in the game when needed

it's hard to consistently keep the stream of lucario going, and it can be disrupted by lysandre and whatnot

it also destroy mega ray and can hold its own against volcanion due to the amount of basic the deck run

scizor is pretty tricky because it setups fast and ohko while being super bulky, kind of a bad matchup

Pokepuff is too situationaly disruptive, usually they'll have no mons in their hand anway since they're constantly rushing through their hand and throwing away cards they don't need with ultra balls and such. Only cards people regularly keep are shaymemes.

Puzzle of times are too slow for most decks, was only really good with Korrina.

Mega Ray is a meme deck and on the decline, only relevant deck you regularly beat is rainbow road.

Scizor, m-mew, and most other good mega decks beat you hard. I think Vespiqueen and her such beat you hard.

I'm not trying to be mean anon, but you're better off in the long run with another deck.

Nothing. Spent like £4 on code cards that was given to be as a reward scheme thing. Started about a month ago and have 2 FA Shaymin EX, 2 different M Gardevoir decks, M Scizor deck, M Mewtwo, rainbow road and some meme decks.
