Any help here for bubblestrat? I read people claiming to use weak pokemon (10,20 cp) and others preferring stronger (around 1000 cp) so they stand a chance, even if a little, against enemy attacks.

I do have a lot of starmies which are all push overs with around 1000 cp (tackle and power gem), was thinking about using some grass ones I have as spares (around 500~600 cp).

So you're proposing the ability to have a small vs large scan? Having the default scan a bit smaller and then having an opt-in for larger scans would save quite a bit of resources.

I don't think I could implement the repeated spawn scanner that you suggested. I may soon make scans last longer though, maybe 5 mins of scanning? I'm not sure and I'd have to test how the server handled that.

We could pin point some places to scan and save them in the cookies so when I scan it will look for only those spots instead of scan everything. Some spawn points are inaccessible unless I want to risk my life so scanning them is not only a waste of time and server load but also a source of frustration when something good shows up there. while in places distant from civilization it is pointless to scan the whole are when there are just so few spawn points all close to the few buildings around.

This is to illustrate what I meant. In this large location there is only 4 spawn points and they can be all covered with only two bubbles so instead of scanning 127 bubbles just scan 2 bubbles 30 times each one per minute and you get a 30 min scan of all the pokemons in the region with half the load of the current scan.

(3 pidgeys and one caterpie by the time of the scan, pretty pathetic when it is in the fucking amazon forest) I don't live there but the place I stay part of the week is similar in spawn point concentration.

There is no difference in game mechanics.
Mystic usually is the most popular (because it is blue and in the middle, seriously) it have more players of all grades from casuals that never played a pokemon game to hardcore ones but since the casuals are gone with the hype they still got more than enough hardcore ones.

Some people choose a team due to philosophy but usually I see a bunch of instinct choosing it because they think it is cool or just to be different and them whine here that they can't take shit.

All 3 groups have more than enough cheaters and many areas I see a wave of cheaters take over all gyms of the region followed by cheaters from another faction doing the same.

Some things I usually use if you don't mind wasting some potions.

Prestige it using a lower CP Clefable with any combination of Pound, Zen Headbutt, Moonblast, Psychic

>15/1600 Nidoking with Poison Jab/EQ
Use the pure Ground types with low CP caps like Sandslash or Marowak

And of course a 2000+ Dragonite vs Lapras, Cloyster, or Dewgong. You can also use a Clefable or Wigglytuff for this provided the Dragonite doesn't have Steel Wing

I know the aim is to not have to use healing items but trying to find a 10 CP Horsea with Bubble is pretty hard.

Exactly, every team on general does it. It's just logical that the smaller one won't show this ratio so much (since you won't be seeing much of them in action).

I'm instinct and it bothers me a little when I see people from it whine about the lack of others. Like, these people didn't pay any attention before choosing. I know I wanted instinct because Zapdos was my favorite. When I learned about the teams ratio, I still decided for instinct. If my main interest on the game was finding more allies and always having gyms for my poke shekels I would go Mystic. But nope, I wanted battle opportunities at every corner, I wanted to take gyms and have the occasional excitement of finding one of my own and help keep it.

Now here at my city, the teams are getting closer to each other in terms of numbers. But I remember the beginning when the only team worrying about raising level 10 gyms was instinct. If we didn't, we couldn't survive for long. Other teams were happy with level 3 since they could find one anywhere.

I live in a small town and there are probably a lot of spoofers and botters, but I can only prove that two specific people spoof. There's this one guy on Mystic with three accounts that are variations of "ThatBruhNez" and another guy on Instinct with variations of "Zillionmore1/2/etc." "Billionmore1/2/etc." and "Infinitymore."

Zillion/billion/infinitymore only has one decent account and like 10 low level ones. He'll put in one high CP Pokemon into a gym and then build it up and put his alt accounts in. Since they're < level 15 accounts, he'll put in things like 5 700 CP Dragonites, obviously sniped. It's annoying since he takes every gym in my town but the weak Pokemon make it easy to take down the gyms. A 500 CP Dragonite as the bottom defender is hard to train against so the gyms always have low prestige.

The ThatBruhNez guy does the same thing but on Mystic. Low CP Snorlaxes and Dragonites as the bottom defender make it practically impossible to train against and raise the gyms' prestige. I'm on Mystic and I don't even bother with our gyms in my town anymore. I just wait until one near me is Valor/Instinct so I can take it and get my 10 coins.

Valor doesn't really do anything bad. They had a lot of botters in the first month (like several level 32+ accounts in the first few weeks) but they're gone now. I haven't seen any obvious spoofers yet.

I don't think Niantic ever bans spoofers. Just botters. I reported the mentioned users several times and even included screenshots. I also got some people on /pgg/ on /vg/ to help me once or twice. Nothing's changed though.

Caught this last night in Studio City. Completely unexpected, especially since Grimers are super rare in Los Angeles, and I had only caught one Grimer and hatched another.

One thing about banning puzzles me. I've read here a few times that when an account is banned their pokemon remain in gyms. Does anyone know why Niantic would do it that way? (Barring a successful appeal. Let's just assume it's ironclad.)

No, I really don't know the answer. The only reasonable explanation I can think of is that some sort of a glitch would occur if a Pokemon got deleted while in a gym.

It could also be they don't really care, even if a ban is definite the account and it's data aren't deleted, so they stay in gyms. Best thing would be to ask Niantic themselves for the explanation, though.

I just thought about this, what if a bird (depending on the team) were summoned when a gym reaches level 10. Then he would show up at the top of it, right above that tiny crystal every team has and this event would have a cooldown to be doable again and even a bigger cooldown for the same team to summon it. But only those from the respective team would be able to catch it. To get the others you would have to trade with someone else from another team, how does that sound?

I'm on the verge of giving up already. All the players who got banned the last wave already have multiple lvl 10 gyms that take me up to an hour in order to solo. I take them down, check the next day and they're all back to 10. It seems everyone else but me had given up but there's just so many and their Pokemon are such high CP that I'm just wasting time for such little exp per hour. It doesn't help that there's no Pokestop clusters so I eventually run out of Pokemon and items to keep fighting. Everytime I see people with strong grass mons I feel so jelly. Grass is my favourite type, I specially like the grass mons in 1st gen but they are so rare in my city, and I've been scanning nearby towns and the situation doesn't get better.
My only hope is to hatch a bunch of 5km eggs and hope they are all oddishes and bellsprouts (this one I've never hatched).

I read somewhere that someone found in the game code something like "Green incense" or "Grass incense" next to other 2 types of incense. If that turns out to be true I guess there is one incense for mountain/fire mons, other for electric/sea and other for bug/grass.

Grinding prestige is leveling your teams gym up to fit more players in it and make it stronger. If the first Pokemon in the gym is a Vaporeon you could get a lot of work done with the Tangela. But if you don't do gym stuff yet it really doesn't matter

I've got 103 oddish candies, with a 594cp Oddish, a 580cp oddish with better IVs i think, and an 899cp Gloom I caught. Do I wait till 125 candies or evolve the Gloom now?

You can stop doing the lucky egg trick now.
Once you get Ultra Balls there are no more decent rewards until level 30, which "reward" is that you will be able to power pokeyman to their max CP. But that can take you months if you don't play on a daily basis.
