TotT: I try not to get caught up in hype at all, if I can help it. Thanks! Understandable. I know people have mentioned that, possibly even you, and one of these days I'll write one out that's better at that. She gets a lot of my subby feelings since she doesn't have much character yet, so that explains why she ends up not putting up a major fight. Also, not exactly where to draw the line at where fighting back starts to get uncomfortable to write. I'll figure it out eventually and I hope that one will be completely satisfying.

I'm not going to spoil it before I even begin writing it, so I'll give you the events of just the first chapter: They've been basically treasure hunters since they retired, Flygon acting like a living metal detector, a flying breathing doppler vibrometer. A meteor strike hits a patch of desert that used to be a battlefield, and reveals some ruins. The local archeological league, who they've worked with a couple times, calls them and asks them if they'd be willing to play pathfinder, clearing the ordnance from the area for them.

They don't actually start with Opsol; they pick her up later. In the beginning it's jsut the handler and Flygon

Maybe a cute story about a leavanny being too motherly to its trainer? All this loving could make the trainer embarrassed at school or something like that, you could go a darker route and say that the boy lost his mother or both parents and now their leavanny is the only one left to take care of him, along with the pokeworlds, orphanage people. At one point being angry or just tired of leavan's love he could try to run away into a forest get lost and get attacked by some evil wild pokemons. After leavanny treats his wounds and take cares of him he apologises to her for being stupid and taking all his anger on her, an in a final act of love/gratitude he finally calls her mom, she's so overjoy that she hugs him tightly and cry's in happiness.

I wanted to ask do you guys have any cute/lewd fic involving ariados or gravantula?

I've seen loads of stories about people getting transported to the pokemon world and it turns out to be wildy different from the anime/games. So, how about the exact opposite?

Basically, a comedy story about someone who is transported to the pokemon world and everyone acts exactly like they do in the anime/games, to an extreme. People are ridiculously friendly, criminal organizations are wacky and incompetent, 80 year old men don't know how eggs got in their day care, etc.

Are there any good fics that revolve around Nurse Joy and her usual responsibilities?

If not, I'd like to see a prequel of sorts of the "First Nurse Joy," that revolved around how she came to be interesting in helping Pokemon and the difficulties she ran through to become the Nurse Joy we all know and love. Explaining her serious case of look-alikes from everywhere would be neat too.


Still hoping that maybe somebody knows of a role reversal fic where team rocket members Ash, Misty, and Pikachu follow around twerp trainers Jessie and James, trying to steal their rare talking Meowth.

I'm actually kinda baffled as to why I cant find anything - I would think that after the show's been on for so many years that there'd be at least a few. There's a small handful of "reversal" stuff out there where its the Pokemon taking the role of people, but even that isn't that common.

Generally speaking, my approach to lewd has been to lean more on implication and to avoid crass language (cock, pussy, etc.) I think that usually contributes to a work that you can read through without it feeling awkward.

I realize now though, that I'm having a stupid time trying to offer more concrete advice. Write out something, read it. If it feels awkward, edit it. Rinse and repeat until what you have reads smoothly and with minimal awkwardness.

Pastebin it and dump it here so it can get critiqued. The issue with lewd, ultimately, is that it comes down to you finding your personal style and what is comfortable for you.

I don't think an attack being physical or special really matters in regards to its potential to instakill someone. I don't know the details of the scene you're talking about, but if it plays out in such a way to allow that kind of massive damage to be dealt to someone, I'd either kill the victim off or make them just barely survive and then get taken out of commission for a while. Maybe also have them never fully recover, perhaps by having them lose a limb or get PTSD or something, to reflect just how severe the damage was.

But if you're unhappy with the damage calc results, I'd just ignore them if I were you. That's what I tend to do. I just write what I think is interesting, and I don't really care if a Pokemon should've been KO'd several times over by that point. So long as it stays within reason, of course--no matter how interesting it is, I wouldn't have a Sunkern take more than one Flamethrower in a fight scene unless there's a serious plot reason for it.

I'm actually a lot happier with the calc than I expected to be when I was first drafting the scene, and I intended that particular move to be a clear OHKO. Psychic attacks are scary

Thinking more carefully about it, I have a decent reason why post-battle damage would be mitigated in the former case and not the latter that'd fit with the story really well, so I probably will just write is as the unfortunate fucker in the former scenario getting immediately dropped.

Reason I say I'm happy with the calculator results is because it actually played out with a degree of tension and required exactly the attack sequence I had drafted to end up where I wanted it. Basically I used it to check my work, and my work checked out just fine. Obviously, the other turns played out a lot more reasonably than those two unfortunate souls getting KO'd four times over in single hits. It's still a very fast combat, but I never intended it to take up a lot of space in the first place, and it starts and ends exactly where I need it to. The BIG fight comes a bit after this one...

A lot of people see more potential in the creatures themselves than in the generally underdeveloped human characters. With a lot of them, you basically have to turn them into OCs anyway, so it's frequently better to not bother with canon characters in the first place.

I've posted a moderate amount of work this September I think. As it stands I'm juggling three series and making notes in my head for what comes next. Issue here is I don't take requests outside of the rare occurrence that an image inspires me to write a short piece, and that's not quite a request.

When it comes to "not physical attacks" so presumably something like Kamehamehas, maybe elemental ones, the ISO standard seems to be depicting serious damage to soft tissue such as skin or hair (or fur). Maybe have them burned. In the case your Pokémon has a solid hide or scales, have them scorched or cracked. Maybe local, structural damage to muscles and bones underheath.

Hey, sorry it's a little bit late, busy with celebratory plans. I got the chance to read this a little bit ago, and holy shit is this good. I forgot from my extended leave the quality content that pours out of this place, really got me hooked. It actually inspired me to write some stuff too, although its not smut or even lewd really. It wasn't exactly what I was hoping for when I posted the request, but it delivered so much more in every other department. The flow of the words, the descriptive writing, and how strongly it inflected the mood that was meant to be portrayed was great. I especially loved the transition from Suicune's point of view to Mienshao's, and the stark contrast in character and tone that came with it.

To explain with what i wrote in 1 and 2...
I realize Sid is just running from what he needs to face, he runs from the fact that his father is dead by taking the job from the Guild detachment, moving to Treasure Town, and leaving on the ship. Everything he is doing is to run from the meat of the problem which is that he cannot enjoy himself.

To be honest i think i can understand what im writing better if at the end of writing a chapter i explain just a bit or leave clues to help the reader understand it a bit here in spoiler text.

What else? Zerobi wasn't going to be a villain in Evolution's Gate, the Gallade was going to be a traitor in Forever Legendary, Rukario was going to be insane, Mew was going to be a one-off appearance while Kabuta was going to be a main character.

Suicune's entire role in the story was completely replaced by Torana, simply because I didn't think Suicune made for an interesting opponent anymore. He's still there though, hanging out in the background, dreaming of what might've been.

I probably have over 9000 gigs of "concept" documents on my iPod. Right now I have 32 different docs, and that number is likely to rise, since I usually split them up once I write so much that they're a hassle to scroll through. I have more documents, generally excerpts, on my phone, and some more on my flash drive. There are a lot of scrapped chapter beginnings from high school on that one, too, if that counts.

Just get down what you need to. You may find that you don't want to turn your ideas into an actual story, since they may be lacking in a way you can't make up for yet, but it's fun to plot things out anyway.

Originally her curiosity was going to trigger something bad in the Cerulean Cave, culminating in her taking the blame and getting killed by the police. The first two chapters reflect this outcome.

But then I started on chapter three and realized I was just writing Pandora's Box with Pokémon. I've already all up in that picture in the past, but didn't do anything with the idea because I was probably writing something at the time.

It was basically just the Mienshao starting to get disappointed in themselves for being lazy pieces of shit and doing routines at night. Having spent so much energy in the middle of the night, they'd naturally sleep in and seem the exact same lazy during the day. The trainer would see this and continue to think their Mienshao is a lazy cunt that eats resources and doesn't do anything. Fluff and drama later, trainer catches them training and heartfelt stuff happens and they maybe boned or not.

Your writing technique in general is high quality. You don't have any obvious spelling errors or grammatical mistakes, which is a surprising rarity in the world of fanfiction. I like the pacing of your writing as well, the paragraphs are at a proper length and we get a decent mixture of description and action sequences. The descriptions of environments also have a nice variety of sensations, I like being able to visualize the light sources in each room and the sounds in the background. Most of the story reads naturally and smoothly, and I had no difficulty following the plot. If this was ffnet and I wasn't in the mood to overanalyze these stories I'd probably say "this is a good PMD fic" and move on.

Unfortunately, there's the dialogue, which I feel like is the weakest part of the story. Yes, I know you are trying to integrate background details into the story by having characters explain them through conversation, but beating us over the head with goofy lines like "It’s our job to investigate things like this, delving into mysterious places and exploring them, even if they’re dangerous" or "That’s because I have Normalize, which means it’s a Normal-type attack for me" is not an effective way of doing so. It destroys any suspension of disbelief when characters start explaining things in excruciating detail that the characters they're talking to would already be aware of or would otherwise find extremely obvious.

The characters are also rather generic and forgettable to me. I'm not interested in them as people when they have no interesting background story and are entirely singlemindedly focused on their job. I want background drama, angst, personal tension, self doubt, emotional growth- that sort of thing. Hell, if they had some cool abilities or fighting styles I might be more willing to overlook how flat they are, but they act exactly like by-the-numbers heroes I've seen dozens of times before in the majority of PMD fanfics out there.

Is this a good way to start a chapter or does it just get confusing?

I was going to write a long, snarky reply to this, but I'll spare you the trouble and just say that it comes off as a really corny attempt at a dad joke. It also comes off as bullshit to me because I don't believe that A. a society that encourages exploration and interaction with nature as much as the Pokemon world would totally ignore such a wide open area, and B. that this region in particular would not be an attractive target for settlers or at the very least trainers looking to capture new Pokemon.

I got to thinking about this after reading a story where some trainer talked about how cool and rare the main character's lucario was.

Does the popularity or unpopularity of different species carry over into your stories? For example, would anyone really train a trubbish? Does everyone really want riolu and eevees? And if they are so marketable, why wouldn't breeders be trying like crazy to meet the demand until the rare/popular species become common among trainers?

It's obvious that some Pokémon are delicious, others are delicious, and lots more are desired. A Protagonist who lives near a place like this would be like if someone in real life grew up to a monitored park. The Pokémon Professors and other staff they meet and know might trust them with Threatened and Near Vulnerable specimens they might write off. You might have a permit for keeping them, since the government severely limits what's available.

I recall that Team Rocket was the best way to get a Dratini for a while. Lots of criminal groups, just like in our world, make lots of profits breaking into protected zones and killing/kidnapping endangered animals. They also run puppy mills, but someone who wants to get their kid "THAT STARTER POKÉMON" won't ask too many questions or point fingers.

However, the law does atop them often, so if you missed the Team Rocket truck full of illegal Starters, too bad.

I just want to encourage people to think and try out different Pokémon besides the Mystery Dungeon starters. Because once you start thinking about it from a different angle, a lot of Pokémon are useful in interesting ways.

A 'Mon with Magical Leaf can wreak havoc on a chase. A Trainer with an electric Pokémon might become too overconfident with their Tazer. Someone who befriends an Abra has lots of unusual movement abilities.

Either way, Big Shoes to Fill had some changes literally nobody asked for. Chapter 1 has been re-written, and Chapters 2 and 3 have been streamlined and merged with a little bit of bonus content thrown in. On top of this, all chapters now have names!

I've read too many Riolu/Lucario PMD fics. I've got a mental filter set up to ignore them. I'm sure the same has happened to lots of Gardevoir fans who binged on their media.

It's not going to topple the Pokémon you mentioned. I'm not high enough to believe that. But I've seen people here ask for fanfiction that isn't 'another retelling of how Gen1 should be!' and on other sites that you might snag a spot on a recommendation list. Look above, someone asked for PMD fics and they got a boat load immediately. It might be too late to take the top spot on ffnet, but gunning for those quicklists is the next best thing.
