Question, why do people like Serena?

She really has nothing going for her, all her character is wanting Ash, and her "not" contest goal in which she's an boring May/Dawn wannabe.

Her backstory with Ash does nothing to add to the story, sure it gave her a reason like Ash but we all know it's not going to go any where since
1.She's not going to be in the next Region
and 2.We know it's not going to be a thing since this Ash we're talking about.

Her hair cutting moment was suppose to be character development but it doesn't go any where since she still acts the same, and don't care if see starts training harder because I don't care about her goal since it's just Pokemon Contests which I didn't even care those in the first place.

Not know what she wants to do at first?
Like May but May didn't take 20 episodes to decided.
Her wanting to do what are basically contest's?
May and Dawn did that and I didn't care for those.

She's Basically Dawn but Dawn worked because that was the first time we seen that in the show since May was more of a Tomboy.
Serena is cute but that's with all of the other Girls in the series.

I've already said this, but it's because TPCi know they can produce it on as flimsy a budget as possible and some idiots will still watch it no matter how terrible it is. Don't forget the reason the 4Kids cast got the boot was because TPCi wanted to save money & cut costs in the first place, and they also replace almost all of the Japanese music so they can make royalties on the dub's distribution worldwide.

I doubt that, but Veronica Taylor was a very good voice actress for the dub. 4Kids' actors in general were really solid when compared to the current TPCi ones, which is odd, but true. Then again, Michael Haigney and Darren Dunstan both actually bothered to do their jobs in the 4Kids Era and voice direct the cast, while Tom Wayland, Theresa Buchheister & Lisa Ortiz didn't/don't do any form of vocal direction and just let the actors go in the booth and do whatever the fuck they want with zero consequences.

I get where you're coming from but consider this: Pokémon is becoming less like Pokémon with each generation that comes out.

I was initially repulsed by the concept of mega evolution but in time it grew on me. However, some of the shit in Alola looks to be going in the direction where you can't even call it Pokémon anymore.

Who knows what sort of shit they're going to have in the generation after Alola if they continue in this direction. If we get a bad generation in Alola and a good one after that then it might be a good show but it also might not even be Pokémon anymore.

Pokémon seems to me to be the anime equivalent of comfort food, one of my favourite episodes to go back and watch when I'm feeling under the weather is the one in Johto where Brock is sick and Ash and Misty have to assume his duties for the time being.

While the anime would have been better if they had of stuck to their guns on the plot and not allowed it to be turned into a hulking zombie that refuses to end and serves to advertise games and churn out a steady source of money it's highly unlikely that /vp/ would even exist and maybe even the games for that matter, both game and anime serve to prop each other up in a way(at least I think so).

Oh yeah, "Sick Daze," that was a good episode and honestly one of the better ones in that filler hell Johto was (also I remember the English dub being noticeably better back then, so I have fond memories of that).

The best episode unquestionably is still The Wayward Wobbuffet. Sick Daze is a pretty good one though.

Pretty much: not a good call. I think the 4th Movie was actually one of the better ones, but still, that's no excuse for canning the GS ball Arc in the Anime.
