DP was a really good ride too, and I loved Hikari a lot, but at the end of DP it actually felt like she had served her purpose. It was sad to say goodbye, but it didn't feel like it shouldn't happen.
With Serena and Eureka, I just keep wanting more. They deserved at least one more year.

I can deal with Ash-Greninja jobbing in the league, I can deal with Ash-Greninja not doing much in the Team Flare arc.

But getting rid of the transformation ENTIRELY preventing possible uses of it in future seasons is just... ridiculous. Especially considering Greninja's popularity in Japan. It's like the directors realized that people were wanking over Greninja more than Charizard now and they were like "M-MUH LIZARD", making Charizard win in the league and do more shit in the Team Flare arc so people will start wanking over him again.

I wonder how far the ratings for the Anime will fall this time with SM looking to be the next BW so far: ratings have sunk to 2.5-3.0 ratings with XYZ, so how much lower can they go?

Meanwhile, the current (extremely shitty despite having made up excuses made for it time & again) TPCi dub is on life support here in Burgerstan currently and can only manage 700,000-800,000 viewers, so I wonder if CN will cancel it somewhere in SM.

Well, in Japan, sure, but even there Nips are viewing this franchise as a Zombie right now. I heard they like retard Ash so that may increase the ratings there, but the English dub's ratings are already lower than they've ever been right now, it's so unpopular that it can't manage more than a 6 AM airing on CN once a week & I can see the Western fandom having a large backlash to the Animation change (I think Japan will as well with this) and retard Ash returning will turn off a lot of people.

I agree the English dub will be terrible, since it's been on this path of being shat out as cheaply as possible since TPCi took over & it's never been more phoned in than it is nowadays, but I don't see how SM Anime is going to be any good, either.

I watched XY-XYZ subbed and that was a comfy ride, but SM isn't looking good, a lot of tell tale signs it could be the next BW are in place right now:

>Ash and Delia going on vacation to a new region just like in BW
>That art style decline in quality for Ash & Pikachu etc.

The only Arc of BW that was genuinely good was Episode N: the rest had serious, glaring issues, namely retard Ash (who looks to be returning in the SM Anime), Iris' catchphrase, and Cilan's food puns. The rest is honestly terrible in hindsight.

The major issues with DP/XY are the companions getting shafted towards the end, though, DP with Brock being completely useless & flanderized, and XY with Serena doing little to nothing during the TF Arc and past the Tripokalons in general. Team Rocket were/are also utter crap in both sagas, which makes me wonder WHY they haven't been dropped yet.

SM has a totally different tone to XY, so obviously if XY is what you're looking for SM is going to be a disappointment. Take SM for what it is though, and it looks like it could be fun. We won't know until it airs though, obviously.

It's mainly because TPCi know they and DuArt can produce the dub on as small a budget as possible and idiots will still watch it no matter how bad it gets. That's why with the recent XY-XYZ dub, more of the Japanese OST than ever before has been replaced than in the history of the English dub prior to that point, the voice acting has gotten so horrible to the point where a fandub could do better than TPCi's cast, and the script translation/dialogue is being butchered almost as badly as it was during DP's dub (i.e. same douche-y slang, alliterations, rhymes, puns in titles like "A Trip Down Memory Train," etc.).

Both the 4Kids dub of old and even the TAJ dub were produced on higher budgets at this point than the current DuArt dub is for the last several years. That may also explain why the Pokemon dub was actually watchable earlier on and kept more of the OST, while now TPCi know people will still watch regardless of how terrible the quality gets with their dub, so they don't give a shit to improve anything.

Serioysly, now. This fucking anime makes me think about a lot of serious things.

Seeing as things went on, its obvious that a exec made the director change the ending and give us that awful thing. I ask myself if Charizard was planned to be Ash's mega, but i can imagine that aswer as being YES, and somebody vetoed it.

After the BW disaster and the incredibly good reception that XY received, i can't conceive that a WHOLE GROUP of adult, faceless men stopped fapping to bonnnie just to order changins in the ending, knowing that shit would hit the fan.
Adults hated it, teenagers hated it, kids hated it too. The reception for pokémon is worse every year and they had the oportunity to start anew. I doubt that a group of people would lack common sense and hate money. I doubt that a group of people would want another disaster as BW happening.

I can only think that somebody, maybe the most powerful of the execs, just hate the anime, hate pokémon, hate his wife, i don't fucking know, and decides to fuck with it every single time.
I could understand XY not having the best of endings, maybe. It would be a dissapointment, but i can HARDLY conceive that somebody would make all those worst decisions for a reason other than "hating the anime".

The 4Kids dub was (surprisingly) fine for its time and was one of the better made-for-TV Anime dubs: they kept a lot of the Japanese music, the voices matches the characters well, and the script had wit- also, we all liked their intros over TPCi's so that point's not really debatable. TPCi's dub is, on the other hand, very outdated for its time and it's doing things no other dub besides Yu-Gi-Oh Arc V is right now, with replacing almost all the music and paint edits to kanji: their voice actors are considerably worse than 4Kids' were as well (and 4 of which still there were hired as "sound-alikes" to the originals on a cheaper budget), so that doesn't help, and the worst writer from the 4Kids dub's later seasons also being the major writer for the TPCi dub (Jimmy Zoppi aka Cathcart) hasn't helped one bit.

Pretty sad they told Veronica Taylor et al. to fuck off forever because we've hired replacements for you and you're not needed anymore, but let James Cathcart and Kayzie Rogers jump ship. The Pokemon dub has a lot of corruption behind it in general these last several years, though I'd say the quality (or lack, thereof) it has (or rather, it has none) speaks for itself.

I've seen the subs of earlier seasons: while 4Kids rewrote some things, at least the character came out speaking like actual kids or generally human beings would speak. TPCi has an allergy to having people speak normally: "Stronger and stronger! Yeah!" or "I'm so psyched" or "Special trainin'" for Ash to list a few examples of how vomit-worthy the TPCi dub's dialogue is, or anything that comes out of TR's mouth with all the "Primo Pokemon" shit or the "Gaggle of gadget greatness" crap doesn't help.

Also, 4Kids' actors were not NEARLY as bad as TPCi's and they kept more of the Japanese music than TPCi has for the last 3 years in a row even at their worst, so those are other factors. Also, their intros were double the length of TPCi's.

Is it just me or does it feel like the anime is over? Even when I wasn't that interested in a new saga like BW, it still felt like the anime was continuing.
