Unlike you XYfags, I know how to enjoy this show for other things besides muh battles and waifufaggotry.

Indigo League was more creative and fun than almost every other season after it. DP is the only one that truly surpassed it because it knew how to balance laidback fun episodes with plot/battle-heavy episodes.

XY had great animation and plot, but it lacked something to make it really unique compared to those two series.

And I'd take BW's trainwreck over 2 years of LITERALLY NOTHING happening any day.

Ash only had one bad match in the indigo league, and that was against Richie, nobody is denying that being a bad fight. On the other hand the rest of the battles were good and many of his underdeveloped pokémon got time to shine.

Why not? Trial captains in the games are basically just glorified guides. If Ash is travelling with some of them, once they arrive in the location the trial takes place they (like Lush Jungle for Mallow) can just ask him to answer some quizzes or fetch ingredients and then battle the totem pokémon. And then, once he completes it they go to the next location.
