You know what? As how things are now i think the following could happen:

The poster doesn't show a main girl (Serena/Chicken).
That means that they could be waiting to reveal who will be the main girl in the next trailer or poster.
Or maybe we get a BW kind of situation and they choose someone completely different(Lillie i hope/ Lana/ Mallow i hope not).
Right now the chances of Serena appearing literally 1% while the Chiken still has a bigger chance of appearing.
Why? Well because Serena wants to become the Kalos Queen. So far it looks like Alola doesn't have that shit and if Ash is going to school then why the fuck would she go to Alola? It would be a waste of time for her.

The plot of Sun and Moon so far seems like it would have been a perfect continuation of XY. Ash just lost the Kalos League so he needs to take a breather to reavaluate things. SM could of have been a training arc for him, which it still could be. He does the Island Trials as suggested by Oak and Samson, and then slowly starts to get his groove back when the Ultra Beasts and the Aether/Skull plot starts happening.

I still look forward to the eventual Lillie/UB-01 episode

Additionally, seems from the trailer that Red will be travelling to all the other regions... or at least Kalos. Not sure how the hell they're gonna fit Zygarde-C into the plot but it's being done.
We're also apparently getting an episode about the Doggo trio's origins, which I'm pretty happy about considering that's also never really been delved into. That also explains Ho-oh on the poster.
Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre are on the poster too, as well as Giratina and Kyurem. Maybe we'll get some backstory on their origins? If we got an episode about the origins of the Unova Dragons, my penis would be erect.
CHERYL of all people is shown being chased by a Haunter. I have no idea what's behind that, but it's good to see even more minor characters are getting episodes, so long as this doesn't take away from more important stuff.
Claydol fighting Heatran, where have I seen that before... Perhaps this'll have something to do with Team Galactic trying to get Heatran.
And the last thing I can think of here is, Blue is shown in the trailer fighting Lance. Guess we'll be seeing what he does on his journey alongside Red.
