Managed to beat Korrina very easily thanks to Balloob's resistances. I think only the Machoke had anything that could hit it. Before the fight, I lost Babborb to a Hariyama. I switched him in to get some experience, and the Hariyama had picked Knock Off the turn before, it was a OHKO. Froge also evolved right before the match with Korrina, making him bullshit. 2nd time in a nuzlocke I've gotten my starter to the final evolution. Next up is return to Tower of Mastery, and onto some more routes.

Korrina fight went like this:

> Balloob vs Mienfoo, Korrina switched to Machoke
> Machoke got hit by Balloob's Gust, I switch to Froge
>Froge gets hit by Rock Tomb, barely hurts, Froge KO's with Aerial Ace
>Switch back to Balloob, who proceeds to shit on Mienfoo and Hawlucha because they don't have any moves that can hit it.

It'd be nice if all the gyms went that smoothly. I'm a little concerned since grass gym is coming up next, and my only counter is Aerial Ace on Froge, and Gust on Balloob. Hoping for another SE type or move along the way.

Anyways, what game are you playing on? The friendship value for leveleling is so outlandish and the "walking" bonuses so low (even lower in Gen V, since there's a 50% you may or may not gain a +2 bonus when walking) that you may need to walk tens of thousands to level up your Pokémon.

I know the crit it got on my Raiju was obviously gonna do regular high as fuck damage, but its non crits were doing the exact same, huge amount of damage as before I intimidated it to shit.

First losses of this playthrough anyway. Both of these galactic admins I've fought so far have been quite difficult, their last pokemon is always a pain in the ass.

Resuming my run, losing Bridgett definitely dealt a big blow to my team's composition. Subbing in Flora for the time being, hopefully my I can get a good catch after Chargestone Cave, because the prospect of facing Skyla with a half-grass team is rather daunting. I had just enough red shards to teach Ice Punch to Lenny for coverage against her and Drayden later, so I have that going for me. Other than that I'm anticipating a rough time coming, between the 6th and 8th badges is usually when the main plot gets resolved in Pokémon games, and I have no doubt I'll be having to serious BS from team Plasma.

Using this particular set of rules really makes me appreciate how difficult the game can be when your Pokémon are at a type disadvantage, and how easy the game can be when your Pokémon have the edge over the opponent.

God I forgot how long it takes to explore Chargestone Cave. It was worth it though, found the Thunderbolt TM and a Magnet, both of which Tristan greatly appreciated. Had a few really close calls in the surprise triple and rotation battles, but pulled through. I quite like Flora now I have to say, I'll probably have to box her for the sake of team balance, but she's definitely on my B team if things go south with Skyla.

So I beat Crasher Wake and got the 5th badge, but it came at a price.

Luxray weakened Gyarados. Wake switched to Quagsire. Roselia took care of it and Luxray learned Thunder Fang. Floatzel comes out and one-shots Roselia with its Ice Fang. Luxray took care of the rest.

RIP Hana. She will be missed.

I lost three key members of my team in short order and had to draft a replacement team. However, they're all super low level and the only way to get them up in a timely manner is to grind and maybe overlevel my guys who aren't underleveled and use exp share.

I feel conflicted, I'm using a pokemon breeder to grind on even though there's two routes I haven't cleared yet. I'd go do them but my pokemon that cover a lot of the weaknesses there are underleveled. So it's like, damned if I do, damned if I don't.

Next time I start it up, I'm gonna fight the Winstrates and head up the mountain.

I also have other runs, Emerald and Perfect Platinum, but Alpha Sapphire takes priority as a lead-up to my Sun Nuzlocke, and it has the most progress behind it.

Progress - About to face fourth gym in random BW2 and I've faced some huge losses since I beat the third gym. The loss of Lee, Fooney, Toni and Weatherwax (starter) was terrible. Very upsetting. I got lucky with Timmy or I don't think I'd be able to beat this gym.

Took down Sabrina Immediately after Erika. With Cerberus basically sweeping both of them.

Started out the Battle against Erika with Muk, Jumpluff started off with sunny day, which Cerberus used to wipe the floor with her with. Kind of surprised she didn't use a Ludicolo, but who cares.

Swapped out Muk for Wigglytuff since 4/6th of my team was weak to Sabrina.
Cerberus took down Mr. Mime, Hypno and Alakazam.
Minyades took out Gallade, Medicham and Wobbufet.

Wobbuffet was scary as fuck though, I used Minaydes' Trademark strategy; Confuse Ray+Hypnosis. When Wobbuffet was snoozing, I'd hit him with a Poison Fang.
She woke up and critted Minyades, who survived with 8 fucking hp.

After going back and forth, and Sabrina spamming full restores, the Marsh badge came in my possession.

I think I'll add Wigglytuff to my team to fight Psychic weakness.

Fuck the roggenrolla guy in Seaside cave. I really would've been fine but his Gigalith got a first-time wake-up and crit stone edge' magnezone who was at 20% health on the switch. Hana has been with us since chargestone and was the #1 against Drayden and Skyla. She will be missed.

I checked out Route 13 and caught Boomquake, even at a lower level, his attack was comparable to Heady, so I boxed him to train the newbie. Ramos was a chump. Balloob was able to pretty much solo the gym by being a fast blimp with fly. Drifblim with a speed boosted nature and Unburden can get hilarious. Gonna be moving onto Route 13 and the Power Plant next I think. I smell foreboding in the air though, I never last long with 6 team members, some one will likely die.

I lost the whole explanation I typed before so I'll just summarize:
-Pelegrino got greedy and I got cocky after Krokorok was taken down no problem. Mega Drain didn't gain back enough to prevent a Slash from Sandslash taking him out.
-Siegfried got out a Feather Dance. Died.
-Sandra Dee took Sandslash down but fell to a crit from Excadrill.
-Minch got out a Sing, two Charms, and Tail Slap before the Excadrill woke up and took him down.
-Jodi set up Attract, Entrainment, and spammed Return until Excadrill was down (even after Clay healed with a Hyper Potion.)

Well that ended embarrassingly quickly.

Picked Totodile as a starter and instantly ran into a wild Seedot just outside of Cherrygrove City who opened the battle with Bullet Seed. 4 repeats and this run was over. I didn't even have time to get into a brooding mindset...

The Team Rocket takeover of the Safari Zone was a surprise, and the boss killed my Spiritomb.

Jasmine was mostly easy, except her Forretress killed Magcargo with a critical explosion.

Nadine cleaned up with extremespeed but losing Rano hurts a lot. He was my whole strategy against sash politoed, so I'm not totally sure how this battle against Marlon is gonna go. I'm bringing back Laertes the Swanna from the box and grinding him up for hurricane hax on politoed and to deal with ludicolo (who hits my whole team SE).

I hate dray for giving ice beam to everything at this gym. at the very least he could've given Carracosta aqua jet or EQ.
This may very well be the end. At the very least I'm expecting 1 or 2 losses against this gym, but here we go.

Trade evolutions in SG/SS are treated like stone evos from Covenant Orbs. You get them from performing in-game trades. When I played SG I caught I caught an extra Ryhorn to trade for a Gilgar in Violet. I never used the Ryhorn and released the Gilgar instantly. But it got me an orb to evolve my Graveler. I felt like that didn't count as cheating my Nuzlocke rules by spirit even if it did break them as written. It felt stupid to me that I couldn't evolve it just because I was playing a ROM.

make sure after you visit the lake of rage to bring the red scale to Mr. Pokemon, he'll give you a lucky egg. Also to evolve Rocky you need to capture a pokemon that's being requested to trade (There's a guy in Violet and I think in Goldenrod or Ecruteak) then trade and the new pokemon will have an item to evolve trade evolutions. I don't think that's against the rules as long as you release the pokemon that got traded to you

I went back to my save state and tried the gym again for fun and it was much easier this time around. No bullshit, just more aware of how he works and made better decisions.
Goes to show you that a lot can go wrong and fuck you over when you would've been fine.
Obviously not continuing because I already lost but if I ever make it back to this point I know what to do now lol.

Touille and Bubba avenged Brigitte, Geogal, Jack, and Rapunzel (among others).

I started the fight with Touille, who needed only two Quick Attacks to beat Staryu. I used another QA on Starmie who attacked with Water Pulse. I could have gone for another QA and risk a Hyper Fang, but if it had retaliated with a critical Water Pulse it would have been game over for Tullie.

So instead I send out Bubba, who didn't have much trouble using Vine Whip (except for Starmie's Swift attacks, which I didn't expect).

Two badges now, and a whole lot of leveling to do to face Lt. Surge.

You can't play them blind without cheesy overleveling. You need to cheat and read the gym leader's teams/movesets and game-plan the fights.

I'm sure someone will say that I (and you) just suck - but I really don't think the Dray hacks can be reasonably Nuzlocke'd blind (or massive overleveling).

One user commented on how it was impossible that I had no losses four medals into Fire Red Omega. But in hindsight, I was overleveled in every single one of my gym fights, except the one I wasn't: against Koga, who I lost three Pokémon to.

I ended up dropping that Nuzlocke because it just isn't fun having to level up and have to account for every single possibility, like Pokémon boosted through plenty of TMs and so on, not to mention in a blind Nuzlocke of his hacks you just don't know what Pokémon the leaders will have, or the movesets they will have.

Imagine my surprise when Surge's Manectric pulled a Flamethrower on me, almost killing my Breloom. Even Dray himself acknowledged on Twitter that he doesn't understand how can people even Nuzlocke his hacks.

So progress got cut short by a power outage last night, resuming now. Just reached Malstraton and I'm unsure what to do next.

On one hand I want to look around the surrounding areas because the idea of facing Skyla with a half-grass team sounds like a bad fucking idea.

On the other hand if I go up to the tower I may end up overleveling Skyla. Thoughts anons?
