The biggest question i have about this is....how the fuck will Delia let Ash go on another Pokemon journey after this? It didn't seem to make much sense until we saw the episode after, where it then became more apparent those reaction shots were leading into something. I haven't watched any Pokemon anime since gen 2 and don't remember a lot of specifics but I decided to check up on XY (&Z) recently. On S19E13 now.

Has Ash always been on such a stupid power level where he literally doesn't lose ever? Yeah 20 years of fucking up the league and all that but after that initial loss against Viola it took 2 1/2 seasons for Ash to actually lose a fight, and it's still against the one guy who's apparently going to take the entire league. Not to mention this stoneless mega evolution shit he pulls right out of his ass. It's like the worst Shounen tropes combined in one character, especially when he travels with Serena who actually struggles and overcomes obstacles

You know, I was thinking about something while looking at speculation and something dawned on me. In regards to Alola, I don't think the exact same thing that is happening in the games is going to happen in the show. Then again, I could question why it's happening in the games, too. The Z crystals are obviously an object of great power. Why in the world would anyone just give out such a powerful object? It can only be used by people who have a strong bond with their pokemon? Fair enough, but the threshold for that with Megas was large enough as it is. This is not a challenge for ordinary people, not by a long shot. Not to mention that gathering all 18 essentially means you command the full power of every element, which would make you something akin to a god. I see something about this being rewritten to suit the anime. How, I can't really say.

It does it way too much. It makes even less sense when there's more characters for reaction shots, and Serena takes up almost all of the exclusive reactions for the league. Even when someone like Shauna got a reaction shot during the semifinals, Tierno butts into the frame himself. And you have to admit the previous example I said isn't for nothing. It makes no sense. Why is the order of reactions Shauna and co., Clemont and co., Malva, Team Rocket, Alan, Ash and THEN Serena, with her own dialogue? She certainly didn't do anything of significance in part 2, besides react even more. It's because she's likely going to try and save Ash in the team flare arc.

I have a question about the anime:

I pretty much stopped watching at AG exactly when Veronica Taylor stopped voicing Ash but I've started trying to get over it and continue watching regardless. One thing I've gleaned from watching a few episodes of X/Y is that the later episodes don't seem to have that 'nature' vibe the original series had. Is this the case or have I just been watching the wrong episodes?

If you don't know what I mean, in the original series there are episodes which focus heavily on the theme of cooperation between people, Pokemon and nature. There's kind of a vibe that nature and people should work in harmony and there's often scenes and montages where you just watch Pokemon in the Pokemon world doing things set to music; it's supposed to create a feeling of awe of the Pokemon world in the viewer. Kind of with a peaceful, ethereal vibe.

Has this completely gone now or did I just watch the wrong episodes? I know it wasn't always like this in the original series so I could just be missing them.
