I took a step away for awhile, let myself cool down, took a nap, and ultimately I've realized there's no point in continuing my investment in this story if the writers clearly have no investment in it. I have nothing left to gain from viewing what will be a sad, downward spiral towards the soft reset that I was foolish enough to believe wasn't inevitable.

If there's an occasional cool episode with good animation in the future that I get told about, maybe I'll watch it. But I'll never follow the series again like I did for this season.

I've never really cared if Ash wins since it's just a dumb cartoon, but I think it's retarded they skipped over so much shit (even in the matches they showed they rushed through things like Noivern and Goodra's battles) to hype up the final matches only to have Ash lose.

On the other hand, when Greninja fell, it was the one of the few times the Pokemon anime actually surprised me. Even till the last second I thought Charizard would fall halfway through the ref's declaration and we'd get a tie. Then again, I was surprised when Ash lost to a dumbshit like Cameron too so something being a le epic plot twist probably isn't a good assessment of quality just by itself.

Seriously? What is there to even like about this show now? "Competent Ash" means N O T H I N G after this loss. Ash will always beat all the gyms, all the evil teams and some COTDs. His "competence" just seems like false bravado now. This season is literally the same as the rest except Ash became a soulless battle robot, and STILL LOST IN THE END.

This show offers nothing. The animation is worthless when it amounts to nothing. It's just prettying up the same bullshit we saw before. It's like sculpting a pile of faeces and covering it in frosting, but at the end of the day it's still the same shit.

This ending negates any positives this season had, because they were only positive as build up for a victory. What on earth is the point of still watching? Again, it offers nothing.
