Is Super worth buying? Last game I played was Sky but I heard Super wasn't as good.
>>
>>27876754
Opinions vary on Super, personally I think it's not as good as Sky, but Super is still very good. Others feel Super's the best of them all. Simply put, if you liked Sky at all, get it.
>>
>>27876754
Personally found that it had much better gameplay than Sky, but the plot went to shit after the first half. It's still worth trying out regardless.
>>

I thought it got better. I never played Sky, though.
>>
>>27876886
Because he had almost no plot relevance whatsoever besides being an escort in the Voidlands and being really close with the partner, so there's not much to him besides being obsessed with the partner.

Yes
>>
>>27878002
It's a rougelike. If you've ever played Shiren, it's sort of the same deal. You dungeon crawl mostly. The main think I like about the games is everything's usable, no matter how useful it is in the mainline games. So feel free to use Farfetch'd if you want
>>
>>27877941
>whats the difference playing vanilla pokemon than mystery dungeon?

I assume you are asking 'what's the difference between PMD and vanilla Pokemon'

Huge. First off, it's a dungeon crawler, meaning it plays differently. Some mechanics were changed to accomodate that (eg. priority moves simply have better range, Speed doesn't even exist before Super re-introduced it, etc.).

Type matchup is different. In earlier games, the only immunities were granted by Abilities and type-based immunities were basically 'resistance, but better.'

One of the biggest changes? No IV and EV system. All Pokemon have the same cap of stats. Once you reach postgame, what Pokemon you'll use will rarely matter, mostly in Lv. 1 dungeons, as anything can become gamebreaking.

Oh by the way, Drifloon is our god and savior. Pray to Unburden Drifloon.

>>27878168
Type interactions are the same (eg. fire still beats grass, dark still beats ghost, etc.). Other than the type immunities.

The way they work in older games (probably before Gates to Infinity, as GtI started to change mechanics; eg. Pursuit is now an actual damaging move and not a self-status move), is different.

As far as I know, this is how the old version works.
>>
>>27878168
In older games, you could hit flying types with Ground attacks. In super, type effectiveness is just reduced, but immunities are there
>>
Quick question, I've played both rescue team and explorers, loved the plot progression and character interactions of rescue team, absolutely hated that in explorers, but liked how the game mechanics were improved.

So, in terms of plot and gameplay, how are GTI and Super compared to rescue team and Explorers? I'd prefer one with a plot and character interaction closer to rescue team, even at the cost of gameplay personally, but I don;t really wanna spend a whole bunch of money on a 3DS to play a game I might not like.

>>
>>27879567
GtI's characters were very good. You still have the main hero+partner duo, but you also have extras like Virizion, Emolga, and Dunsparce who are a part of your team, and they all interact with each other and have quite a bit of personality. The gameplay's somewhat butchered, though.

Super has the best gameplay, and the first half of the story revolves around schoolchildren who all have a pretty good dynamic with each other, along with the partner and her relationship with her dad. Those all get dropped in the second half of the story, where much of the cast felt like the guild in that only one or two people mattered despite there being so many characters. The plot also changes from a calm/comfy one to a generic anime power of friendship plot, so that's also a thing.

Use items if you're having trouble in the game. If you have CFW on your 3DS, custom starters are also possible in case you're not into the generic Fire+Water+Grass choices. The game actually provides a genuine challenge unlike Sky, but whether or not the plot is better depends on who you're asking.

Good thing I picked Totodile before switching starters
>>
>>27886310
You'd need CFW to do it (either use NTR or the AR3DS codes), but if you only have Homebrew I can make a save with the starters you want and upload them somewhere so you can use them, since save extracting/injecting only requires Homebrew.

Yeah I know Drifloon is super OP or whatever. I wanted to use it though because it is one of my favorite pokemon! And I figured that I could leave its ability as aftermath instead of unburden so that the game wouldn't become super easy.
With the added bonus of having access to unburden drifloon without breaks whenever I'm done with the story
>>
>>27886663
I think it's okay sometimes and believe it's justified when fighting anti-friendship or something similar because it makes sense to bring balance. Super's instance is a pretty minor case of it in my opinion. The scarves were merely tools powered by their bond. It's like saying "you gave me the courage to shoot this gun."

If anyone else wants some custom starters for Super but doesn't have CFW available, I could make the saves for you guys to use for Homebrew.

Thinking about it, there's never been a Steel type starter rep, right? I wish Super gave us all types rather than all starters, would've been cool to use a fairy type on the first playthrough.
>>

>who cares about the Anime "THREADS"

I just did a count for you. There are seventy (70 (seven zero)) threads about today's anime episode on the board right now. I don't care for the anime so you'll have to excuse me for being puzzled as to why someone would come to the PMD thread to ask about the anime when they could have done it in any of the seventy currently existing threads.
People don't talk about the anime here because it's a thread for a specific line of spinoff games.

Want to talk about the PMD anime specials instead? If not, that's fine. If you'd rather talk about today's fight between Charizard and Greninja, I'd be happy to point you to many, many, other threads where you'd get more people who'd be happy to give you their opinions.

By "not having a hacked 3DS," do you mean you don't have CFW, Homebrew, or both? Pretty sure you can get Homebrew even on the latest system version, so try to get that if possible.
https://smealum.github.io/3ds/
Either way I'll get that done for you.
>>
>>27892663
The latest homebrew hack is really easy. You just need to drop some files onto your SD and then scan a QR code to reset into the homebrew launcher and run an installer so you can decide to boot up into homebrew mode anytime without the QR code from then on.

Then it's just a matter of waiting until a new CFW exploit is found.
>>
>>27892833
Simply put, I haven't modified my 3ds in any way. So I dont have CFW or Homebrew.
>>
>>27892937
Oh, okay. It's pretty simple, as the anon above your post said, all you have to do is put some files into your SD card, then scan a QR code to get into the HBL. Your 3DS won't be messed up in any way, and when you're done doing what you want to do, you can delete those files and revert to having a completely unmodded system.
Cool or cute Mareep?

So, let me get this straight, so I'm not confused. This goes like:

>put files on SD Card
>load up specific game to mod it
>homebrew is here
>put SMD savefile somewhere
>play through game
>if i'm worried a new update will fuck it up i take files off sd card
>but the smd savefile should be safe

Is this correct? I've only been comfortable modding the Wii so far, as that thing's basically foolproof
>>
>>27893228
The current homebrew hack is
>Put files on SD card
>Boot up 3ds
>Turn on the camera
>Scan a QR code
done
>>
>>27893269
And after i scan the qr code, what happens? Actually, which of these things in that homebrew link do i grab?
>>
>>27893323
The starterpack's what you should use for your first time. It has everything you need, besides the save manager. Once I get the save ready, I'll include the save manager application with it.
When you scan the QR code, it'll send you to the internet browser, which'll then launch an exploit that boots you into the Homebrew Launcher.
>>
>>27893375
Alright, do i put "starter" at the root, or all three of the files?
>>
>>27893496
The files inside of the starter zip get placed into the root. Don't put them in another folder or it won't work.

Here's the save manager and save files for Wooper and Mareep.
https://mega.nz/#!NxpA1DJR!Q4RAg6nOo1Cq-MbR3Ru8iJWu9FlTvZUDpkItziWCPAU

If you got Homebrew to work, then all you have to do is go to the save manager. If you want to back up your old save first, then click backup, store it somewhere safe, then copy the savedatabackup folder from the zip back to the root again to regain the custom starters save. Then import the save.
>>
>>27894649
Out of curiosity, have you tried pokemon with various forms as a starter? How does the game react to a leader Rotom or Shaymin in the overworld, since it asks what form you want to use when you enter a dungeon?
>>
>>27894757
Not sure. I'll give that a try in a bit, along with doing a run with multiple evolutions/fully evolved Pokemon to see how the scarf cutscene handles their evolution after 100% my current run.
The ID list lists characters like Rotom and Shaymin's alternate forms as different Pokemon, so my guess is that it'll just permanently use the form you set it as.
>>
>>27894649
Just to clarify, I CAN do this on 11.whatever right?
>>
>>27895245
yep
I did it myself to give myself charms in monster hunter
>>
>>27895245
Yeah. As long as Homebrew works, you can put the files in your SD card and import the save using the save manager. No CFW needed.

Also forgot to mention that that save used Mudkip+Pikachu as the base, so Wooper+Mareep's base movesets and stats are from those two.
>>
>>27895319
Wooper CAN learn other moves though, right? Like the normal learnset past the beginning ones, i mean?
>>
Alright, we're into the homebrew launcher! Now what?
>>
>>27895345
Yeah, the two will learn their proper moves later on, it's only their base stats/moves/abilities that are shared from Mudkip/Pikachu's.
The ability will likely fix itself, but I haven't tested enough to know when that happens. For my Poochyena+Jigglypuff save, it got fixed as soon as they entered the School Forest dungeon.

>>27895404
You downloaded the save manager and Wooper/Mareep files, right? Do that, then go navigate to the save manager. Then keep pressing right until you reach PSMD. Backup the save if you want, or import the custom starter save if you don't care about your old file.
>>
>>27895461
How do i back this save up?
>>
>>27895488
In the save manager, there should be a backup option. Do that, then eject your SD card, and store the savedatabackup folder someplace safe.
After you do that, get the savedatabackup in the Wooper+Mareep .zip and put it back in the SD card. You can then import the custom save without having to worry about losing your old save.
>>
>>27895561
Alright, i'm a total idiot. Where is the save manager? It doesn't look like it's usable on the computer at least. Do i have to scan that qr code every time i want homebrew?
>>
>>27895665
The save manager is in the 3ds folder of the Wooper and Mareep zip. You use it in the Homebrew Launcher.
And yes, you'd have to scan the QR code every time unless you install menuhax. Menuhax is in the starterpack, so it'd also probably show up in the HBL.
>>
>>27895755
I cant install Menuhax
>>
>>27895896

>>27895896
Oh, right. I think Menuhax is busted on 11.0. You're stuck with the browser for now, unless you want to mess up ORAS or SMD's saves to turn them into a Homebrew Launcher. You probably don't want to do that, though.
Either way, the save manager should work fine.

The backed up save is the entire savedatabackup folder.
Copy that to somewhere safe on your computer, then delete it from your SD card.
Then re-add the savedatabackup folder from the zip file onto your SD card, and import the save.

Pic related, what's in the 3ds folder. Nothing seems to be working
>>
>>27897097
Super or Sky? Sky's simple, either use Sky Editor or Action Replay codes, and your starters will change to your choice. AR codes fuck up special episodes though.
For Super, you need CFW to change the starters yourself, or you can ask someone with CFW to make a save for you to inject with Homebrew.

>>27897125
Sorry if my explanations aren't that good. If you used the backup option, your save will be backed up just fine. The apps don't really explain things that well and aren't newbie friendly, so I can see why it seems like nothing happened. As long as you placed it on the desktop somewhere, nothing should go wrong. You remembered to delete the savedatabackup folder on the SD card then replace it with the one in the zip, right? You'll need to do that for the startermod to work.
>>
>>27897218
The fact that my 3ds takes half a minute to just shut off doesn't help matters either.
>>
>>27897218
I deleted the folder, replaced it, and still nothing. What the fuck? This is IN the 3ds folder that is IN the sd card
>>

This is bullshit. I want my Sheer Force boosted gatr.
>>
>>27897339
>>27897378
Alright, going back to step 1 just to make sure nothing gets screwed up.
1. Backup the save (again if you already did it, don't know if you still have the files, so just do it anyway to be safe)
2. Copy the savedatabackup folder from the root of your SD card over to your desktop.
4. Delete the folder from your SD card after copying it over.
5. Put the custom starter savedatabackup folder into the root of your SD card.
6. Import the save.

It should work properly if you do that. The other anon was able to do it without a problem, so I'm not exactly sure why there's been so many things went wrong when you gave it a try.
>>
>>27897603
The two folders are in the 3ds folder. The 3ds folder is in the root of the sd card.
>>
>>27897660
savedatabackup should be in the root, not the 3ds folder.

Hey guy that set me up with these starters, can you make a guide on how to do this? Chances are we'll get a lot of people wanting to change starters
>>
>>27898105
I guess I'll make a guide in a bit. Shouldn't take too long to write it up, just have to make it friendly for new users/people who never modded before. For CFW, you can pick between anyone to be a custom starter, but I'll probably create premade saves with certain starter combos, since not everyone has CFW, like you.

So far I've got saves for
Poochyena+Jigglypuff
Growlithe+Tyrunt
Honedge+Drifloon
Wooper+Mareep

Not exactly sure where to go from that. Might make saves with mons some of the anons here request, Sky and AS's starters, and generic cutemons since almost everyone here seems to have a thing for cute.
>>
>>27898223
I got a friend that'd probably want Sableye. What happens if a pokemon that doesn't evolve well, evolves at that one point?
>>
>>27898449
I'll probably do Sableye and a cute Misdreavus, then.
Not sure about the evolving part, I've yet to try it myself, but there was a YouTube video where someone who used Powersaves for Arceus and Celebi "evolved", resulting in something glitchy.

Actually, Sky Editor allows for some save editing in RT, like changing the base and such. No startermods if that's what you're asking, since the game freezes. Not that it matters much anyway, switching leaders in RT turns you into that mon.

None of the starter choices seem to freeze. I was able to run through the game just fine with Poochyena/Jigglypuff, and it seems like the anons doing Honedge/Drifloon and Wooper/Mareep haven't encountered any problems.
If you're talking about what mons to use before switching starters, anyone works. Pick the one with the moveset you like the most, since the replacement mon will still keep the old moves.

If someone were to make portraits for other Pokémon in SMD, and then a save editor was used to change the starter to that Pokémon, would the requisite cutscenes have those portraits? >but wait! your fellow humans also can be corrupted! you might end up having to fight. or try talking them out of it. depending on circumstances, it might work out
>you may or may not try to uncorrupt them if you feel like.

rate and hate the cringe."
>>

I'd make one of the humans the main villain instead. I think Explorers done all they could with pokemon villains, and Gates/Super with eldritch entities.

>>
>>27913092
You would still have SOME eldritch something, because there's no way a human can turn Pokémon/humans evil without Corruption Energy.™

Also, for reference about talking them out. You are the last one to come, and it's been a while. Some of the humans have already formed bonds, and if you are lucky, you might be able to talk out them out of corruption.
This is because I was planning it going off the same thing as Dark Matter: the negativeness inside everybody - so you might try counteracting by bringing out the positive things. Whether it does work or not depends on the human themselves and your interactions with the world.

To clarify further: This is obviously not going to work with everyone, you would have to fight some of them [you won't be able to save everyone; there just won't be enough time]. But if it's a human that got really attached to someone or whatever, you might make an opening that will make the whole uncorruption business easier. i know this is cliché as fuck but Super had a nice idea that with yveltal and co. being brainwashed into evulness went nowhere.

Unfortunately the site is down as the guy's up in loans. So here, have an archive.

There's even a move list for Rescue Team. Note that the last entries are fucked up: Shadow Ball and Crunch are listed as causing cringing while they actually lower Sp. Def. Er, thanks, but I was thinking about Super. The engine was great, bar the non-move damage (why couldn't it be like Sky, where you could still hit people if you ran out of PP?), and it's got the current largest collection of Pokémon. I realize it's a long shot, but still, I'd rather like to try. I wonder how difficult it would be to use the engine, but change things up so that Pokèmon could be recruited the old way? Probably near-impossible, but might be interesting to try...

Super's engine is closer to main series (ie. Pursuit and Future Sight are actually offensive moves and not self-status moves).

How did you change it? Did you use the list? It's kind of weird since there are (at least) two values Pikachu, but it's not what you'd expect it to be like. It's a narrative vs gameplay thing. In Explorers, you two are the only ones who get kidnapped, so it makes no sense to bring anyone else along (on top of being another nicely-timed rise of the difficulty curve). It's less justified in Rescue, but at the same time, feeling like your own recruits had turned against you is certainly in line with the emotional effect they were going for (and then meeting Absol has a stronger impact too).
>>

Diff anon, but why would you want to make a game with Super's engine?

Don't get me wrong, I get that the little quality of life stuff is nice, but the whole game just feels clunky. Input-laggy, even. It's an issue I've had with all the 3D MDs I've played - Gates, Etrian, this. It's another one of those little things that makes Super harder for me to want to go back to.
>>
>3 runs later

I'm all for the old RNG recruitment method, but stuff like this makes it hard to defend.
>>

All of the games except AS are getting reverse engineered, try to help with that or wait until modding tools are available. GtI and Super seem to be easier to mod at least, but RT and Explorers have more documentation.
>>
>>27921306
imo the old method is better even then compared to the whole "You only get one of these" thing. Honestly the only thing making me iffy on getting Super.
>>
>tfw Damp means no Blast Seeds

shit
>>
>>27921518
Super's "one-of-everything" does suck, but it had the right idea of changing up the tasks required to recruit this and that. It makes for a much more varied and entertaining game to 100% compared to RT's constant floor camping and EXP grinding.
>>
>>27890278

is there not an orb that stops everything moving? can you not teach a pokemon agility? can you not bring a couple mach orbs?
>>
I knew Stone Tree Mountain was going to be tough but I didn't expect it to be that hard with 255 stats on both my partner and me. Earthquake spam from Sandlash was 2 hitting Lucario and 3-4 hitting Swampert. They both have around 150 hp.

Do you have any tips to make this dungeon easier? Thank you.
>>
>>27921923
>limited to 3 items only except for equipped slot

>>
>>27921518
The major problem with the Connection Orb isn't so much how you can only get one of each (which is a problem, don't get me wrong), but how it serves to make the process of getting new Pokemon more linear. The whole "web of connections" thing is a nice idea on paper, but in practice I just felt like it was constantly locking way more Pokemon away behind an invisible wall rather than giving you a lot of potential options and you just had to have the RNG on your side to recruit them.

Like... like, in Drenched Bluff in Explorers, you can recruit Anorith, Lileep, Shellos and Chingling. In Mt. Bristle, you have five Pokemon you have a decent chance of recruiting and then Nidorino and Nidorina, which have a lower chance. In two dungeons, you have eleven Pokemon that you could potentially recruit. Even if I'm not into recruitment in general, that sounds a lot more appealing and open-ended to me than "do a mission in order to unlock this character", which makes the whole game feel like a checklist. Maybe Super was more varied, but it wasn't engaging, either.

That said, raising the recruitment rate in the older games also poses the problem of constantly having your exploration interrupted every time you defeat an enemy and it wants to join you, so who knows what the best solution would be. Regardless, I hope they go back to the old system in the next game.

If there's one thing I hope, it's that they never try to really "justify" recruitment the way they tried in Super. Recruitment's always been pretty glossed over story-wise, and it doesn't make much sense when placed in context with everything else except maybe in Rescue Team, so I feel like Super had its priorities mixed up there too.
>>
>>27922207
The old method could probably be "fixed" by giving you the recruitment rate boost items earlier, or maybe just make some seeds that boost the recruitment rate of a pokemon that ingests the seed, or... I dunno.
What's your opinion on Friend Areas, though? I kind of liked them, it was sad that they discarded the concept so early. Imo it didn't complicate the recruitment all that much.
>>
>>27917772
I'll merge it then. Would probably help reduce clutter in the OP too, by not adding an extra link.

Also the site's back up, which means I can finally do Mareep/NidoF and Scraggy/Mienfoo. Sorry about the holdup.

Nope. They're modeled differently depending on the starter (like Totodile wearing it backwards like a bowtie instead) which is why it doesn't show up on customs.

>>
>>27922317
If anything I think that recruitment made the most sense in Rescue Team simply because it didn't seem like rescue teams or anything had much... "supervision"? So just having random folks join your team made sense. By comparison, grabbing random Pokemon off the street made the whole Guild thing in Explorers feel weird, and it's the same thing with the Society in Super. So the writing-y side of me likes Rescue best.

As for gameplay, though, Friend Areas are fun, but I definitely think they could be designed better. It's annoying to have to sort through multiple recruits in the same area (especially since I never nicknamed when I was younger), and having to go from area to area to get your whole team ready was a small pain that added up over time. If anything, what I'd like to see is a mix of it and Explorers: use the list system that Explorers had in the "main city", and have the friend areas be smaller "towns" that act like Spinda's Cafe, letting you feed your recruits Gummis and things or having the occasional extra mission from one of your folks like you could get in the cafe. It'd be similar to Super, of course, but based it around the Friend Areas instead of five set towns, and making it based on recruitment, would feel like a better encouragement to recruit more and more Pokemon.
>>
>>27922799
Rescue Teams really did lack "supervision" or something. I mean, how else did Team Meanies manage to become a rescue team? Though given the fugitive scene in RT, either Gengar didn't choose Charisma as the dumpstat, or everyone is just stupid, I guess.

But your suggestion could work. I was thinking something akin to "When you select a person to visit, it gives you two options, "Visit", and "Join team"", so if you only wanted to switch them in, you'd save a lot of time.
>>
>>27922963
Yeah, something like that seems like a good compromise. You'd have the benefits of the immediacy of a menu with none of the old drawbacks, and you'd have the benefits of the visual variety of the Friend Areas with none or very few of the old drawbacks.
>>
>>27923057
The only real problem I can think of with Friend Areas is the possibility of one getting too crowded, but no idea of how to solve that one, except maybe making every FA consist of more than one room. Then have something like a sign telling you what Pokemon reside in which room, saving the time otherwise used for looking through every room to find that one specific Pokemon.
>>
>>27922207
See, all I want is a proper justification. Personal headcanon is that aggressive dungeon Pokémon are "feral," and are made such by the influence of the Mystery Dungeon itself. Dungeons are symptoms of the world falling apart, vampiric little pocket dimensions that latch onto our world but aren't 100% bound by our physics, hence randomization and emeras. Minds simply aren't built to handle that for too long, so they break under the strain; a recruited Pokémon is one who's not quite broken, who manages to refrain from harming you (too much) with what sanity they have, and who can heal from the dungeon's influence.

Chatot basically explains when you first join the Guild that time has been going out of whack and that's why mystery dungeons have started appearing. Combined with the idea that they start appearing in Rescue Team when (un?)natural disasters start happening, I always liked to think that it was basically nature's response to the laws of nature being a shit.

>>27923209
Though I've always just ignored recruitment writing-wise and just considered it a gameplay thing and nothing else. The idea of sapient Pokemon living their lives in little houses and towns while wild Pokemon still exist and are a real danger while traveling feels like an interesting take on the fantasy setting to me. don't get me started talking about this i've written and been a dumb nerd about this subject far too much

>>
>>27923154
That's definitely something, but I imagine you could probably easily solve it as "you can recruit at least one of each Pokemon that is available in the friend area, plus a few more". So like, an area with the Torchic line, Vulpix line and Torkoal would have three, two, and one, so you could have at least six recruits in there, plus, say... four extra slots just in case. So ten. That's a really small example, but you get the idea.

What about buying the friend areas, though? Would you just unlock them by recruiting a new Pokemon of that area, or would you have to spend money to buy them first? I can definitely see the flaws of buying them, but I still can't help but like it as a money-sink. As long as you dutifully save up, money stops meaning a lot in PMD after a little while.
>>
>>27924248
That could work, too. On the subject of buying Friend Areas, I'm not sure. I kind of like the buying aspect, but something like "Recruiting a pokemon belonging to FA x unlocks said FA" could work as well. Or maybe make them mission rewards, or would that not be good?
>>
>>27922317
The old method was already fixed in GtI with gifts.
>>
>>27924441
Going up in rank gives you FAs maybe?
>>
>>27924487
I haven't played GtI aside from the demo, can you tell me more?

>>27924506
This could work as well, depending entirely on the selection of dungeons and their residents.
>>
>>27924573
There's a gift system in Gates. You swap some items you don't need in exchange for a gift (for example, Azurill's gift requires 2 plain seeds), and then bring it to a dungeon. When you encounter the Pokemon you want, use the item on them and they instantly join your team.
>>
>>27924441
Mission rewards might work, but then it might run into the problem of figuring out which mission unlocks which area, which would be a bit iffy. Unlocking them by recruiting new Pokemon seems like it might work best - you get the excitement of having recruited a new member, while also making you feel some anticipation about what the place might be. You'll know that it'll be "fire, water, grassy" from the type, of course, but will it be a grassy Beau Plains or will it be more of a Forest? That kind of deal.
>>
>>27924651
>instantly join

Huh. Not sure about that one. Hmm...
What about making it so that each type has a gift, opposed to every pokemon, and then giving a gift gives a nice boost, but not make it a 100% success?
>>
>>27924728
I think they can still decline your gift, but it's supposedly rare.
>>
>>27924727
Now that I think of it, I have to agree with you on that one.

>>27924743
Is that so? Then it could maybe work if you turn up the decline rate, or something, not sure.
>>
>>27924728
There are both gifts by type and by Pokémon, and one that works with everyone. The ones that are Pokémon-specific can be bought at the store, the type-specifc ones are rare and can be obtained by ranking up.
>>
>>27924777
Well, I guess with that, the system could work with just a tweak to the rate of declining, or something.

Alright. Got Riolu+Vulpix done.
Almost all of the files in that list use Totodile+Tepig as the base, so the player can use Ice Fang and the partner has (early) access to Flamethrower. Resetting the game and going through the first three dungeons just to give Riolu his original moves would've taken a while, so hopefully you won't mind.
>>
>>27926084
Is the third dungeon roughly the point where the starter's movelists correct themselves?
>>
>>27926141
You can correct the moveset yourself after you unlock Hawlucha.
>>
>>27926141
After testing it around for a while, the starters' abilities get fixed when you reboot the game after swapping starters. The moves they get through levelup and Hawlucha will be the new/modded one, only their base movesets come from the original starter choices.
Base stats are also from the original starter choices, but at an early level the difference is minimal/nonexistent.
