All the pokemon look like neopets and they did that thing where they scale up the "difficulty" by just cranking up all the enemy levels and not giving you enough trainer battles (or less exp per win? Maybe both?) to keep up.
If you play it, get yourself some good flying and/or water types asap because everything for the first three gyms has bulldoze or magnitude.

Doing a blind Nuzlocke, battle style set, no healing. Just reached route 02, here are my very first impressions:

I'm having more fun playing this than XY or ORAS combined, most of the Pokemon are pretty goofy looking, and the nuclear Pokemon are too edgy but the music is good and the difficulty level is in a good place (until the ice area wtf).

Just beat the second gym. I've blacked out once so far. Difficulty is definitely far above the Nintendo games though.

Started playing it yesterday, seems decent overall. The spritework for the overworld and scenery is amazing and comfy as fuck, has a nice atmosphere to it. The music, from what I've heard so far, is catchy. I don't mind the fakemon designs. The in battle trainer sprites are fucking godawful, they can't get the eye placements right. The characters have unique and interesting personalities so far and are quite entertaining. Overall, comfy as fuck, 8/10 so far.

The game falls under fair use. And unlike every other fangame project that never takes off, this one was actually finished. So there's not really anything that Nintendo could do.

The reason why SMBZ, a Fox in Space, and the Mario Unreal Engine, Zelda Maker, and AM2R all got taken down was because the devs were backing their project by Patreon.

The Pokemon Uranium devs weren't doing anything that broke copyright laws. They even admitted that they never actually got a C&D notice.

Can I play Pokemon Uranium on an Emulator? Or does it have to be on my PC? Also, should I Nuzlocke the game or is it too difficult for that like Star Sapphire.

Most of the Fakemon look meh to pretty bad but I think the human sprites are just atrocious, including player characters. I was tempted to pick the non-binary char because the sprite looked better than the other two (maybe newer?) Some random guy on dA could do much better spritework than "9 years in the making"

I can tell you that the AI definitely cheats in this game. In the same battle I got flinched 6 times in a row, and then also a pokemon used night slash on my psychic/ghost pokemon disguised as a dark/fighting pokemon on the first turn.

Story is good, a little predictable, but good.

Most fakemon are a little subpar, but there are quite a few exceptions.

Overall, I enjoyed playing it.

I can run a fire type in any normal pokemon game and inflict burn about 3 times from starting to the elite 4

I've applied burn to about 40% of mons I've fought and most of that is from ember, not flame body
