Is pic-related the average, or the best case scenario? And did the update change anything? My last few evos have all been below that. Eg, just evolved a Rhyhorn with a 1.93x multiplier.

It it completely random or is there someway to figure out which Pokemon will have a higher multiplier?

Welp VP, I've pretty much gotten completely burned out of the game for the most part.

It's too grindy, they haven't fucking even patched the catch rate shit in two weeks, and it just seems the developers don't fucking care at all about making this game actually fun based on recent patches.

Sitting at lvl 23 and don't really want to play anymore or have the drive. Maybe I'll play it during commutes to work but I don't really feel like actively going out to play just pokemon go anymore.

For everyone who didn't farm enough Dratini before the nests got taken out: what do you intend to do?

They're so rare I haven't even gotten one Dratini after hatching 14 10k eggs. I'm sitting on 26 Dratini candy with my best being low 400s with horrible IVs because they've all been caught in the wild. And every gym seems to have a fucking Dragonite.

The maximum I've claimed is four since by the time I take over a fifth gym, I get knocked out from the first, and so on....

How autistic do people get about gyms?

I try to take as many as I can, but once I collected my defender bonus for the day, I'm done, aside from the odd Gym that's secluded enough that there's a chance I could hold it until the next day.

But I feel like there's a lot of people who get so autistic over gyms that they'll hop in their car or whatever and re-take a gym as soon as they're aware it's fallen, like, they take gyms way too seriously. They may or may not even be aware that the defender bonus is even a thing.

Yeah I pretty much beat as many as I feasibly can while still getting all the coinage for it and that's it for me. With two exceptions: if all I have to do is drop a pokemon in an open slot to strengthen a gym, or if my bag is full and i have lots of disposable Revives and Potions. In which case I might just train prestige at a friendly gym a few times or beat an enemy gym, just to clear up some bag space for more balls.

Before level 25 I tossed them away to make room for pokeballs. Then when I decided to take over gyms, fucking stops gave me nothing but pokeballs and the potions I had stored ran out.

Basically, never use potions ever. Only use revives.

Just let your pokemon battle until fainted, and a revive will bring them back at full health. Since you can use a team of 6, you should still be able to take down a gym no problem, even with pokemon only at half health.

The only time you should be using potions, is when you need to raise the prestige of a friendly gym, since you have to go 1 on 1, and the revive trick doesn't work anyway since friendly gyms always leave you with 1 health.

Personally I hope Niantic completely overhauls this super broken gym system.

What is even the point of cheating in GO? It's a casual mobile game where you can hold a gym for 5 minutes if you're lucky.

It's basically the same as the base game except instead of ranging from 0-31, they range from 0-15. And there are only 3 stats, of course. So a 100% perfect Pokemon would have 15 in each of the three stats.

Because there's no direct PVP yet they're not nearly as important as they are in the main series. Which is good, because without breeding getting perfect Pokemon is all luck. Though Pokemon you get through eggs generally have higher IVs.

Height and weight are not related to IVs at all, no matter what John Gamefreak's son told you.

Yes, the smaller the bar the more quickly it charges. The reason I stated this would be beneficial possibly for a defending pokemon is because they get additional energy to charge their special moves per damage taken. This does not occur for the players pokemon, only the AI on defense.

So I just caught this after babysitting 47 Ponyta candies for a week. It has an Ember and Fire Blast (so the best moveset) and great IVs obviously.

But then I have an 820 Ponyta with comparable IVs and would evolve into a much higher CP Rapidash but the moveset is a gamble. So it's a matter of hoping for a good moveset and saving stardust or dropping a lot of stardust powering up the low CP yet otherwise perfect Rapidash. What would YOU do?

I checked IVs for two Gastly on multiple sites. One was at 3000 Stardust and 80%ivs. Another with lower CP at 2500 stardust but was put at 88% ivs.
I decided to test it and powered up the 88 one once. It dropped to 75% at the same level as the 80 one and had lower CP than the depicted weaker one.
I don't know how accurate sites are anymore or if powering up actually wastes it before evolving.
