I'm the /a/non that made that thread you're referring to. First of all, I didn't know there had been a thread earlier that day. Secondly, even if I had, there are no rules against making threads about subjects that got discussed earlier that same day in some other thread. The thread was civil, lasted about a day, and got lots of perfectly good posts from lots of /a/nons. It got some minor shitposting from this one guy that always comes to shit up Pokemon threads on /a/, and he's the only person talking about this "forcing a general" shit you're quoting. His posts get deleted for a reason, and these rules he's insisting are being broken don't actually exist.

Discussing Pokemon is not against the rules on /a/, and the threads get decent discussion, since /a/ has good moderation and your average /a/non is mature enough to just ignore threads about shows he doesn't like.
