Ash is a magnificent trainer, and Ash-Greninja is the perfect way to demonstrate it. Indulge my autism for a minute and consider the following:

>All these superpowered mushroom cloud-causing moves look like they're coming straight for him
>Ash doesn't even motherfucking flinch and muscles through
>He even feels every single hit Greninja takes like it's hitting him directly and he's STILL not scared of these deadly glowing claw moves and laser beams
>He has absolute faith in his Pokemon not only to win, but also to dodge all these moves that could (and have) put him in the hospital if they landed
>For all intents and purposes, Ash himself is out on the field fighting
>More than any other trainer in the entire world, Ash alone has the right to command Pokemon in battle because he's not asking any more of them than he asks of himself

Compare that to other trainers who sit on the sidelines where it's safe and yell out attacks.

Ash has always been like this, willing to meatshield for his Pokemon. That and his implicit trust in his Pokemon are the two traits that make him worthy of being the protagonist. Ash-Greninja provides the perfect medium for those characteristics to be laid on the line and put to the test, and I'd say he passed with flying fucking colors.

This won't happen but if it does Serena will forever be the best girl fucking period, hands down.

And the thing is, I say it won't but it kinda COULD happen in some bizarre universe. After Pikachu weakens charizard it cuts to reaction shots of every single significant person in the stadium--companions, team rocket, diantha, etc. You'd think it would stop on Ash or Alan, but the last shot is Serena clasping her hands and delivering a line. They might be crazy enough to have her be THE reason Ash pulls through. She's already on her feet the whole match, she could theoretically run down and yell at Ash.

I don't believe they'll do it but it'd be insane.
