In terms of him as a character I thought he was pretty cool. I liked the whole wanderer thing, his design and the pokemon he used.

In terms of how he was used then definitely yeah, I think gamefreak handled him poorly. He should have had more of an impact during the game and should have actually been fought after the elite four.

For starters that Spiritomb can't kill Hydreigon reliably while Hydreigon can get an easy 3HKO.
Roserade can probably kill Hydreigon after Spiritomb dies but then it's just bait for Druddigon at that point because it has to take a flamethrower from Hydreigon to do so but Roserade could get a toxic off before it dies.
So now you have a poisoned LO Druddigon and Togekiss. At most Kiss can 3HKO but lets say 2 because poison and Druddigon moves slower. At this point they're both two down and Cynthia has a weakened Togekiss.
Archeops gets the kill on Togekiss because it outspeeds.
Archeops and Lucario can both 2HKO each other with acrobatics and Stone edge respectively but Lucario is packing Extremespeed for that priority which kills it.
So weakened Luke vs Aggron. Aggron is outsped and OHKO'd.
Luke and Lapras, Luke can only 2HKO shaving off just over half of Lapras' health at most. So Lapras wins and we're on to Milotic.
Milotic can tank all of Lapras' moves and counter with mirror coat which does double damage and assuming Lapras used Thunderbolt Lapras is dead.
Haxorus can outspeed and kill Milotic at this point coming out untouched.

So Haxorus vs Garchomp. Chomp goes for Rush, Haxorus survives with a sash, outspeeds and kills with dual chop.

This is just assuming retarded trainer AI though if it were a human using these teams then we get into complex prediction areas. Then again the AI would pull out Garchomp on Hydreigon after it's done with Spritomb and then Chomp dies to Lapras.

Either way there's no way she can 6-0 unless there was a retard at Iris' helm.
