I know this isn't /g/, but I need some help. I wanted to try this out however I noticed my phone is 4.1.2. I haven't done a ton of research on it yet, but, is there a way to get my phone to the latest version of android? I'm using a HTC m7 and I do have it rooted, but I haven't really done anything with it before. I just don't know if there's a work around with GO or a way to update my phone. Checking the updates section on my phone doesn't really give me anything either.

I figure I'd ask here first though while I get some work done before hand, how fucked am I?

I can't decide between Mystic and Valor.
Valor is the cooler name, but Ice is my favorite element out of the three.
Both have pretty great emblems, with maybe Moltres looking a tiny bit cooler.

If it makes you feel any better, it was around level 6 that I started constantly finding 100+ CP pokemon. Level 10 now and atleast every other one I find is 200CP+, approx every third is closer to or over 300CP.

My area of ATL is full of scrubs, from what I've seen. The local gym is Valor's so that's good. My list isn't that great but it's the best in town from what I've seen.

Probably. Evolving pokemon gets you a ton of xp but I don't think powering them up with stardust does very much. Having a higher trainer level means better pokemon in the wild, so I think it's better to focus on your trainer level more than anything else.

Of course having a high enough level to hold gyms means more stardust and pokeshekels every day too

Eggs are the best way to XP farm.

I just go around in a circle, farming pokestops and hatching eggs while catching any pokemon I come across and it does wonders for increasing level because every egg hatch is worth 500 xp and a bunch of bonus candy and dust.

Of course I evolve too but egg hatching is easier if your the type that doesn't mind walking a lot. The only issue is that you don't get enough free incubators.

That's not true, I played in the beta and tested the catch rates quite thoroughly and I found that catch rate is increased by hitting the center of the circle, regardless of size. Color of the circle also impacts catch rate, green is high, yellow is medium, orange is low and red is nearly zero. As for ball throwing, ideally you want to curve the ball into the center by spinning it until it sparkles, you'll know if you hit the center of the circle because a message will appear saying either 'Nice', 'Great' or 'Excellent'. Nice means it was inside the circle, Great means it was near the center, Excellent means you hit the circle dead center.

Of course waiting for the circle to shrink means that if you hit the circle you are more likely to also hit the center but it also increases the chance that you will hit outside the circle and get no bonus at all.
