"Pokemon gets lost" isn't really inherently a bad idea, it's just a vehicle for an episode like any other concept. It's when the episode feels like a stupid waste of time that it's bad, aka Axew episode. It was relevant to nothing, had no character development, and just wasted time that could've been spent on a better league.
