I was honestly disappointed in how little angst this episode had. The confrontation between Ash and Serena was at the very start, and Ash was basically back to himself right after the last snowball hit him.
I wanted to see him wander around in self misery a bit more.

The stadium in Lumiose City feels a little enclosed and claustrophobic.

The lists seems pretty comprehensive but I still need a reason for why I'd want to invest my time into the series.

I've had some bad experiences when reading about Ash's character, people say he's a boring idiot who never learns anything new in his travels and never ages throughout the series despite having been on the same journey for the last 15+ years.

Also I've heard some complaints about the anime's story continuity, one of my weeb friends told me that the series has almost no sense of continuity and what happens in every episode is pretty much completely forgotten later on and never mentioned again.
