Ariados doesn't add much to the deck outside of clogging it. I'm also not too sure about Virizion as an attacker.

That trainer lineup is also pretty questionable. What does Delinquent do in this deck, especially with only three Forest? Why Misty's at all? Why only 2 Sycamore and 1 N as your only draw options, in a deck that relies on being able to evolve often enough to hit the paralysis?

I've been playing the TCGO for a bit over a month now, but been collecting cards for much longer. I'll have a casual match against friends soon, and now I'm trying to scrap up what I can. I don't want to go buy certain cards just for this, I want to see what I can do with the ones I already have.

These are the Pokémon that I sometimes see on PTCGO that are quite useful. Problem is, I only have 1 of each (except for Golbat). Also, I'm a huge Mewtwo nerd and they're already expecting me to play it. I'm fine with that, I kinda have to really. The Lv.X seemed to be a nice one too because of its PokéBody (what even is that...but alright, kinda like a Pyroar?), and the first three seem to be the best choices for attacks when used with the Lv.X one.

This is NOT a deck idea yet. It's just the cards from my collection that I think could be a good idea to play in general. Right now I'm tending towards all the Mewtwos + Fire mons, excluding Ninetales.

As far as trainers go, I have a lot but also a lot of shitty ones amongst those. My idea rn is:
1 Sycamore, 1 N, 2 Lsyandres, 2 Team Flare Grunts, 2 Acro Bikes, 2 Trainer's Mails, 1 Ultra Ball, 2 Poké Balls, 1 Super Rod, 1 Town Map, 1 Fisherman, 1 Pokémon Fan Club, 1 Fighting Fury Belt, 1 Muscle Band, up to 4 Professor's Letters for finding Fighting Energy for Mega Mewtwo X.
The only Stadium card that would make sense is 1 Shrine of Memories for Mega Mewtwo X - either for using Mewtwo EX's attack if I don't draw Fighting Energy/Letters, or for making more damage.

tl;dr - are these mons good ideas for casual playing? Or should I go look through the collection once more?

I've got Gardevoir EX (1), Mega Gardevoir EX (1, no Spirit Link), Malamar EX (1). Also RC Yveltal (2) if I go and try to include Malamar + Darkness Energy instead of Fire or something, and Togekiss EX (1) if I go for Gardevoir + Fairy Energy.
Didn't seem as good an idea as Psychic/Fire to me though, I don't know.

If you're running 4, you only have a 38% chance of using its ability. And even if you get multiple, you can only use one. That means you'll always have 3-4 Talonflame sitting dead in your deck, that you'll have to manually evolve.

Utility attacks like this aren't very welcome because draw power and consistency options should be the role of your trainers, which don't make you end your turn to use. Having to waste an attack and end your turn immediately afterwards is generally not considered a good move in a format where decks like Night March can swing for 180+ on the very first turn.

Which is why even running it in a tech deck like Vespiquen isn't going to work. Vespiquen only functions if you can set up the Turn 1 Vileplume, and this attack contributes nothing to achieving that. And that goes for most other decks that have good targets for Aero Blitz. Not too many decks like having 3-4 dead cards to potentially lose them the game.

Or if you decide to build a dedicated Talonflame deck with the BREAK, then you now have to set up a Stage 3 in a deck without Water Duplication, type-specific search options outside of Winona (lol), or a way to toolbox out Rare Candy outside of generic options.

This is a fun and creative card, but it's not good.

Post rotation tiers:

Tier 1: Yveltal/Zoroark

Tier 2: M Sceptile, M Alakazam, M Ray, Turbotina

Tier 3: Greninja, Vespiplume, Carbink/Zygarde, Rainbow Xerneas, Raikou/Mangezone

This is assuming Everything after Phantom Forces stays. I think Yvetal the best deck going forward, it's versatile, powerful, and has good match-ups against everything else I can think of.

I'm not sure on some rankings here. M Sceptile is almost tier 1 but it doesn't like M Ray, Turbotina, or Rainbow Xerneas. M Alakazamis sold tier 2 unless a powerful psychic attacker drops it into unplayability.

M Ray may be too high. Parallel City and Delinquent shut it down hard. Turbotina is also solid tier 2, I should do pretty shit against Yveltal but have good match up aginast everything else not named Xerneas.

Greninja's going to keep on Geninjing. If Gardbodor starts to see more play, not sure who'd run it, then the deck might drop. Vespiplume is the only item lock deck so I feel that people will still run it. It would be a lot slower as it's harder to get things into the discard.

Carbink/Zygarde I'm not sure of. it's hard to get Energy into the discard and fighting looses Korrina and Fighting Stadium. It also gets eaten by M Sceptile. M Steelix might be the better partner for Carbink, but I'm sure it will be shit.

Rainbow Xerneas might be too low, it's the only non-EX deck that can OHKO EX pokemon and has a great match-ups. It's a lot faster then is looks but I just don;t see it being top tier because the deck can brick sometimes.

Raikou/Magezone is the only real electric deck that I can see working, Raichu (Who may be in M Ray Decks) can't OHKO an EX anymore so taking a more defensive route may work best. This is largely as a response to Yveltal being tier 1.

Gardodor seems like a smart play given the abilities most decks use but I can't think of a good partner for it. Maybe Rainbow Xerneas can fit it in if it gets something to replace Golurk?
