I just did a quick read of the FC set, and did they push the power again? Zygarde-EX has 190 HP and is basically Lucario-EX. All the other EX that had that much HP requires a shitton of energies to attack.

Reverse Foil commons are signified as "Reverse Foil commons". Full Art Ultra Rare EX cards are known/listed as "Full Art Ultra Rare" EX cards.

They still have the same rarities. Just modifiers.

I've been having fun with this deck but how can I improve it? I'm fairly new to this and I built it with cards I have in real life just from booster packs so I know there's probably a lot of room for improvement.

Read my first post, Kyogre/Groudon and Wailord all requires a shitton of energy to attack, on top of requiring 4 energies to retreat, and Groudon/Kyogre even though their attack costs "only" 4 energies, they have still have the drawback of needing more Team Magma/Aqua in play to attack.

No, if you want to build a fast deck then you obviously don't build a stall deck and except it to be fast. The entire point of Trevenant is to get it out and active by the end of your first turn and then slowly chip away at your opponent. Shaymin helps you get it out first turn, along with Wally (and the ways to get Wally, e.g. Vs Seeker + Battle Compressor).

If you want a "fast deck" you're going to need to start from scratch.

Well the fastest decks in the format are NM, Vespiquen/Vileplume, and M Rayquaza. The first runs 3 Shaymin and the others run 4. This is in addition to cards like Trainers Mail and Acro.m Bike. These "fast" decks jizz out their entire deck on the first turn to establish their win conditions immediately.

Alright, we don't need to have this argument for the millionth fucking time.

PTCG is not "cheap." It is expensive. Almost every single competitive deck, bar Greninja, needs AT LEAST 2 Shaymin EX, and a few run 3 and even 4. That's anymore from $80 to $200. Then you need another $40 for VS Seeker. And then you need all your Pokemon, and if they're all EX's it's going to cost you even more money. And you're really fucked if you need 1-2 Jolteon EX.

THAT BEING SAID

There are other, more expensive trading card games. Yugioh and MtG are both much more expensive than PTCG. I can't speak much for MtG because I don't play it, but Yugioh can be fucking ridiculous sometimes. And while you can pass around Extra Deck cards, most main decks are completely different. At least when you buy Shaymins and VS Seekers you know you'll use them in every deck you want to build. AND on top of that you never have to worry about a banlist popping up and rendering your $400 Nekroz or Dracopal deck literally unplayable. And $400 is a historical low for Yugioh tier 1 decks.

Also, there are much, much cheaper trading card games. DBZ, for instance, is extremely cheap. I just traded in ONE Shaymin EX that I wasn't using to my LGS and used the store credit to buy an entire DBZ deck.

So, no, Pokemon isn't "cheap," but it is by no means the most expensive trading card game in the world.

Some Vanguard decks are also cheap (to the point where you can easily make a competent one by buying two trial decks and filtering out the crap).

100% false. The decision to play NM is a calculated one. You may take it to a tournament and get paired up with nothing but NM counters. If you're particularly skilled you could play around it but chances are high you'll get shafted. Then there's YZG which is a true test of real skill. Here is my Wailord Deck using some of the cards from more recent sets.
I didn't include sycamore/juniper because I felt like you can deck yourself out.
I would include more suicune(but I dont have enough copies) or maybe sigilyph (doesnt work with rough seas) but whatever.
Not a serious competitive deck, but managed to make several night march and a landorus/lucario EX deck ragequit.
Lysandre may be a problem so you have to know when is the right time to lay down cards. Archie's Ace Blastoise/Keldeo, bunnelby, Virgen decks are probably an autoloss too.

I play this deck when I want to troll not climb the ladder.

Pretty much. Most decks can't hit 200 - (290 if Wailord has FFB) on turn 2 without a lot of setup. The plan is twofold: wailord(and suicune) is there as a stall wall/tank with mime protecting the bench and jinx healing every turn.I try to outheal the amount of damage dealt to me. I take advantage of the fact that ppl play fast decks and use shaymin/hoopa/sycamore/battle compressor etc. to thin their deck out.
Also ppl who like to draw into big hands with roller skates/prof. letter suffer once I play hugh. My deck runs a lot of stadiums to use with delinquent to devastate smaller hands.Since most ppl can usually lay 1 energy at a time they end up discarding resources they would need lategame.
Most night march variants run 4 DCEs and maybe a few basic energies. They might get 1-2 KOs but once I start to draw my energy removers the game slows down. A lot of turns of them passing because they have no energy in hand.
The deck is not foolproof ; I had trouble with Bronzong, the new Flareon Ex deck with team magma's camerupt; just blacksmith in general, dark patch darkrai/yveltal.
