What if Alan ends up noticing Puni-chan with Bonnie in episode 24? He hadn't seen Z2 until after his first battle with Ash so he had no reason to take notice of Z1 back then, but this time it could be different. Maybe he reports it to Lysandre and that leads to the heroes being attacked again a few episodes later.

So I just finished watching all the subbed episodes and I've been wondering. Why is it that [PM] uses the English names of moves, but the Japanese names of Pokemon, Trainers, etc.?

Seems to me it would be easier to just go with one or the other rather than switch like that.

Most English names for the moves are straight translations of the Japanese ones, and had they translated the others directly, you wouldn't be able to tell what move it was.

Did we ever get to see any of Cynthia's other pokemon in the anime? Whenever I think of diantha I feel like she's to reliant on her gardevoir. Also on that note,what if ash is told that he relies too much on greninja and decides to try using some of his other pokemon like charizard but has to go on multiple quest to find the mega stone of one of his old pokemon while at the same time having a bonding episode with that pokemon

I also have Japanese subs from kitsunekko though it doesn't cover the whole season. (Been studying for two years so no problem before anyone asks.)

Am I good to go like this or are there better versions available anywhere? Does /vp/ have all the Japanese subs uploaded somewhere by chance? I'm not a regular around here so please be gentle.

Well, for the trainers and such it's because there's no English name for them and instead of going with some English/some Japanese it's easier to stick with all in Japanese.

As for the Pokemon, you're already using Japanese names for people so you might as well do it for the Pokemon. Attack names are already known by everyone so they just translate that.

May had one of the best developed personalities of the main girls that changed and grew as the saga progressed. The Contests became popular, May did some of the most on-screen battling of all the main girls other than Dawn, she had popular interactions with her rivals Drew/Harley, and she also has a lot of funny and comedic moments.

Outside of maybe Kanto-era Misty, I think May has the most amount of funny/humorous moments of all the main girls, especially in the beginning of Hoenn. May had a silly/clumsy side to her personality that none of the other girls do, and it made her amusing to watch.

The reason there's so much focus on Bonnie/Clemont's relationship is because neither of them are the main lead female with a goal (like Serena is for XY), so that's what their selling point is.

For May, her main selling point was the Contest arc and being the lead female. Her relationship with Max was always secondary and that's why as AG progressed the writers focused majorly on her characters interactions with Drew/Harley and her battling.

I think people fail to realize the only reason the writers even created Max was to give May the "big sister" angle and show some development for her when she had to look after him. Them being siblings was always secondary compared to what May was introduced for, bringing in the Contests and a secondary lead female.

The episode you're talking about is "Having a Wailord of a Time" from early Hoenn. The Torchic from the Pokemon center was the one that evolved in that episode. May's Torchic didn't evolve till AG81, which was the Breloom episode.

Also that episode had Ash and Brock explain to Max what a starter pokemon means to a trainer, and Brock revealed Onix was his starter in that episode. May did neglect Torchic in early Hoenn, so he was right, but she made up for it later on when it evolved.
