Little update since I forgot to way earlier today...well I guess yesterday now for me.

Made it through Lenora after grinding a few levels, didn't quite make it to lv. 25 for everybody.

Bouffalant at low levels is not a pushover by any means. I never though I would fear a based ass afro bull.

Honestly I regret not having played Volt White earlier, I'm actually having to think and use items. Really wish mainline Pokemon games had modes similar to this for their Challenge Modes.

I'm pretty shit at this so far. Playing Black and White, 2 fainted before I set foot in a gym. 2 left.

I'm going to evolve my Oshawott, 'Aussie' and hopefully be able to fuck the gym leader up.

My experience with Pokemon? Beat Blue, Yellow, and Silver years and years ago. Got back into it recently when a friend linked me the Ruby: Hard-Mode comics. I played a few hours of fire red on an advance I picked up at a local con for twenty bucks, and then I decided to start this Emerald Nuzlocke today.

Went north and caught this thing. The name, Shi, is from the Chinese guardian dog statues. The western name, Foo Dog, just seemed kinda dumb.

I thought my White run was about to end at Skyla when my electric types had just been taken out by successive crits and my heavily invested audino was taken out by Bide of all things. My unfezant Birb pulled through on me there, but with only a bug and a flying type I was expecting to wipe at Twist Mountain. Snug, who was fairly underleveled and hadn't had much opportunity to shine, now tanked everything from boldores to excadrills. Then she solod the entire Icirrus gym.

I've never played cuck Emerald so I'm not too sure on specifics, but Dunsparce is a pretty shit pokemon normally. It can however be pretty useful depending on how you use it.

Serene Grace, Glare + Headbutt Dunsparce is pretty fun to use and with 100 base hp it's an alright mon. Plus if it can get coil in CE then it can be viable. It's not amazing however, don't expect it to be, but it can be fun to use.

Started doing a nuzlocke of every generation with some additional rules to make the pokemon choices more interesting for me:

- Can only catch Pokemon of that generation. This is to stop me getting repeats of stuff like Magikarp and Zubats, meaning all my teams for each game will be different.
- Skip Pokemon that I've caught before in this run, again for variation.
- Can't use Pokemon that I have trained competitively in the past. This ensures I don't get a lot of my favourites that I'm used to using, as I've likely competitively trained one already.

When I reach a new route, only Pokemon that dont fall into those categories count as the first encounter, so I'll skip the others. Gen II is gonna be fun! Skipping all those Gen I Pokemon...

So far in Red my team is:
- Wartortle
- Jigglypuff
- Oddish
- Meowth

It's up to you. Normally the distinction is area caught, and I think the area caught is still 'Mt. Coronet' rather than 'Mt Coronet Peak' or whatever.

However each area is completely different in the time of the game you enter it, the look, and pokemon that are encountered.

If it says where you met it is different than you're free to go, usually I don't do that though.

A good example is Hitmons/Lapras in Saffron, if I pick up a Hitmonlee, when I get Lapras I'll release it or box it permanently.

Same goes for say Pinwheel Forest in B/W, typically if I catch something outside, I wont catch something inside even though it's a different load area, they both still say Met at Pinwheel Forest.

Beat Clay and didn't lose anyone. Realized after facing the gym trainers I was going to get rekted if I didn't do something to my team, so I went and revived the turtle and taught it Scald. Was nice to be able to hit his mons hard after losing my Paliptoad and Snivy's middle evo around Nimbassa.

I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna start a Pokemon White Nuzlocke with the rule of 1 Pokemon Center per town.

1) Standard rules + Dupe Clause
2) SET battle style
3) No items in battle besides held items/pokeballs
4) One Pokemon Center per town
5) Scripted healing is free
6) Newly caught Pokemon are entitled to one free heal (done by PC transfer/Heal Ball).

So basically, my only source of healing (and thus PP healing) is from scripted events, PC transfers (but only when absolutely necessary), and healing items.

My main reason for doing this is to prevent overleveling and all that, but the challenge sounds fun as well. How screwed am I?

but you could just add that and make it the 7th rule. up to you, it's your challenge

Sorry for the super late update, to anyone who was following along. Work has been hell. Anyway

I finally got the nerve to go and slap Brawly around, and it was surprisingly easy. I only got low to a crit once. Didn't even potion. Moving on..

As a first time Alpha player, I was really surprised by the contest thing. Cosplay pikachu.. does this thing have to be counted as a capture? I don't know how I feel about this thing.

We had some evolutionary changes, but nothing else of interest has really happened.
