REPOSTING:

Is this the right place to ask bros for eggs so I can do an egglocke run in Y? I don't want to know what the eggs are, I prefer to be pleasantly surprised.

Also, rules I'm planning on using are:

As soon as you catch the first pokemon in an area, exchange it for an egg in the pc.

Faint = die.

Can keep catching and exchanging but cannot modify party unless someone dies.

Wipeout = game over regardless of box population.

Party level cannot exceed gym leader level, turn off EXP share accordingly.

No items in battle.

Battle style set.

Pokemon cannot learn TM/hold items/stone (or item/trade) evolve without participating in at least one gym battle.

Egg pokemon level is caught pokemon level. (Am going to need a lot of rare candies. Already grinded WT in another game so I can just trade there to level up.

Any more suggestions?

Burgh is down and out thanks to Tusk and Atum once again. Pretty uneventful fight, to be honest. Baited a Scald by throwing out Tusk first and swapping it out for Cheap Trick on the first turn to delay Icy Wind while Swoobat set up. With two Calm Minds under her belt, Atum proceeded to lay waste to Burgh's team, even getting the one-shot crit on his Scolipede that I'm not even sure it was needed.

As for my next destination; I dunno. Should I go back and revive one of the fossils after I clear out the Desert Resort? If so which one would I go for? I'm in dire need of a water type but my team is already pretty shit against Fighting-types, excluding Swoobat.

Just began my blind adventure on Volt White Nuzlocke. Got rekt really hard early on, losing my starter Snek and my Caterpie Wöhrm in the process.

Learned to power level my pokemon, got carried by Eip in the first gym since it was fire (water pulse ftw).

Now heading left from daycare, just evolved Schpuhn a few minutes ago. Guess this will be a tough ride.

Sigilyphs are scary, even when it isn't N's. Nearly lost my Watchog to the one in Relic Castle. My team has a huge problem with Flying types right now. Skyla could be a huge problem when I get to her.

Going through the desert resort I decided to count both the outside and the inside as separate areas to bolster our ranks a bit. Didn't matter much because we got a Darumakka when we already have Tusk. Dunno if Underworld will be a permanent addition to the team because while I do feel like using a Steelix, our team's Water and Fighting weakness grows bigger, meaning I'd have to ditch the fossilmon for the metal snake.

Realizing most of my Pokemon were nearing level 40 and that I barely had enough badges to keep them in check I made a mad dash towards Elesa's gym after we were done in the desert. We start off with Tusk at the level 40 threshold and, after two whole Flame Charges, there's simply no more brakes to ignore and we shift into multi-Bulldoze KOing.

Started a Randomized HeartGold Nuzlocke this morning, struck gold with choice of starters - (Machop, Togepi, Larvitar). Though too many close calls - Rival not only gets Machop, but lots of encounters with super-effective moves. Sad to lose Frozen - happened to have Pick-Up and managed to get a few good items before she passed.

Looking to get an actual team going when I get to Sprout Tower - please, no more crit-kills.

I would say just go for a game you know well, the number 1 killer besides bullshit crits in a run is not knowing what you are up against.

Just a quick question, but I'm kinda at a loss. In gen IV there's 2 HM's that involve flying type pokemon, Fly and Defog, which are both not required to complete the game since you can advance to other areas without them. Thing is that I haven't caught anything that can learn any of these and I have to go through Mt Coronot to get to Spear Pillar. Would it be legal to catch something that can learn those HM's?

Right, except that rule applies to areas you can't acces. I can however acces all areas because Defog is not required to travel through mt Coronet or other places and neither is fly. I also already completed Mt Coronet, but still thanks for the answer :^)

Espeon can't switch in on anything. Venomoth is not the best out there, but he has 2 4 times resistances and he has a varied movepool with powders, psychic and Giga Drain while Espeon has a shit moveset for ingame. Espeon has obv much better offensive stats, but if you can sweep with a Linoone then you'll be fine.

I'm doing a nuzlocke of Yellow using "Dragon Ball" mode, where fainted pokemon are deposited into a dedicated box instead of released, and if I find revives, I'm allowed to use them. But I can only use revives if I find them, I can't buy them, and if a pokemon has been revived once, it can't be revived again and must be released after fainting a second time.

Well my charmeleo and wartortle just got wrecked by a wild kadabra, and this is the first loss that actually upset me.

I actually thought I found a revive but after checking my inventory and my PC, I find nothing. Fuck me sideways.

I've played Liquid Crystal a bit. Its fun, you can play it on mobile, it has phys/spec split, but some of the pacing can feel a bit off. Eg, in Azalea Town you have to fight two rivals back to back with no opportunity to reorganize/heal, that gets a lot of people.

Hey guys, I finally managed to get my hands on Alpha Sapphire and immediately dove into a nuzlocke run of the game because that's the only way to play pokemon these days.
As I usually do, all pokemon should be scaled to their "actual size" relative to the trainer.

I found out right away that DexNav has the potential to be amazing, but also very scary. Waiting till a hidden pokemon pops out to be your first encounter seems to work wonders for a strong team, but you never know what you're gonna be up against...

That's how I lost my zigzagoon. The boomburst from the taillow i was trying to capture scared the shit out of me, and I lost my ziggy. I managed to capture the little nuke launcher before it took down another of my team, but man that was unexpected.

The stone badge was easy enough, with 3 pokemon with a type advantage. I had no problems.

I actually got an abra in granite cave, but I will be holding back on using it because I don't want Brawly to be TOO easy.

So I just had a crazy thought.

How would I go about Nuzlocking Dragon Quest V? For those who don't know, it has a monster capturing mechanic in it, slightly similar to Pokemon.

Monsters however, are just treated like typical JRPG party members, they are able to learn spells, equip weapons and armor, etc.

However
A. Monster recruitment doesn't come into play until about 1/4 or so of the way into the game.
B. Monsters choose you, not the other way around. The way it works is after defeating a monster, there is a chance that this particular monster will want to follow you, this rate varies between monsters.
C. Not every monster species can be recruited, only a select few(See the GameFAQs guide on this for details)
D. There are human party members that go along with your monster party members, many of which are important to the story. Would the same rules apply to humans as they apply to monsters?

It obviously wouldn't be the exact same thing as a Pokemon Nuzlocke, although permadeath would still be kept obviously.

Right now my thoughts are this.
1. Can only recruit one monster per dungeon/area and it has to be the first monster that wants to follow you
2. When a monster dies, it's permanently dead. It must be released via the Monster Gramps
3. The only humans that rule 2 applies to are Sancho and Pipin.
4(Hardcore mode): Main hero dies outside of a scripted battle, you must reset the game.

Anyone else familiar with DQV care to critique? I realize most people use them, their son, and daughter by the endgame so monster death would probably mean fuckall.

Currently at Lenora, though about giving her a go, but I feel a bit unprepared. N thrashed me pretty hard, luckily nobody died, and the Trainer inside her Gym with the Porygon was a bit a hassle too. I imagine Lenora's team is vastly different like Cless' team was too.

Should I give it a go and risk it or just level to 25 for everybody and then try it?

Also where do I get a Water Stone for Rei/Staryu? It's terribly weak right right now.

Cleared out the Galactic Building. I was lucky enough to get a paralyze off on the Skuntank and some good parahax so no one died, yay!

Not bad so far. Just finished the second rival battle. Had the annoying Burmy and Totodile but nothing bad. Encountered a stubborn Dragonair that wasted all my balls and I dislike it for that.

Was really unsure of leveling further because I've never used a Staryu before so I didn't know a good level to wait to evolve or just hold off on leveling it and then evolve it at 20.

All good, They're rather weak and getting hurt for a little bit of grinding I was doing near Pinwheel Forest, so I'd like to be on the safe side just in case.
