My first few runs with Pokemon were on Yellow and I just watched my cousin play them, he wouldn't let me touch his Gameboy. We used a Haunter in both playthroughs and the first time he told me he evolved at level 50, we didn't get him there before beating it. Second playthrough we did, he changed it and said 60. We made it it 60 and as you know, nothing happened. Fucker strung me along.

My first Pokemon game was preowned which was emerald, the catridge had about 400 hours clocked, a bunch of event Pokemon, most of the pokedex complete and game completed at the time I didn't understand what anything was so I reset the game and started a new one

I only remember that we were retarded group which was sitting in the park and fapping to the levelling omastar up to lv100 xD

and my story, sad story; needed only 2 starters and their evolutions to complete the dex because I believed into getting celebi after that [some old shit about getting GS ball after talking to goldernrod girl, after completing dex]
found out about cloning mons... I tried that and succeed, however, I ended up with different colours of the sprite, empty boxes and only that starter and in tears and with new game because I thought that it's necessary to actually have all those mons physical, not only registered xDDD

oh oh! and there's also one thing XDDDD Because of my poorness I was making friends with ppl who let me play pokemon games on their computers [emulators] but when they only stopped I completely were forgetting about them XDDDD haha 3-week long like friends hahah

I tried to capture only the pokemon he used in the anime.
And, as neither Misty or Brock join you in your journey, I would visit them in their GYMs and talk to them. I didn't know how to read english at that time, so in my head it was me telling them about my adventures.

I used to be a cute kid.

In Gen 2 I had a cheatmodule called "PC-Boy", where you could basically :^) mons, even completely broken ones like a shiny Magikarp with maxed IVs and the most powerful moves.
Sold a mon for 5, made a fortune. Bought a lot of TCG cards with the money.

Not something I did when a kid but still pretty autistic:

I forget a lot of the details, but I think it was something like, we shuffled & drew 5 Pokemon from the deck, ignored everything on the actual cards except HP & did damage calculation based on dice rolls:

>Nine of Diamonds = defends against 10 damage * # rolled
>Ace = instant KO
>King = Heal 10 * # rolled
>Queen = Poison (flip a coin for an additional 10 damage after each turn)
>Jack = Heals poison or blocks OHKO
Everytime you lost a poke, you'd lose a die.


Also used my shinguards & taped together some wings to pretend I was "Charizard Man" when I was 7

Don't think it's all lost. I also had to go through most of my Pokemon games alone, in my case because, where I live, very few people cared about the Pokemon games, and the Pokemon craze was purely focused on the anime. Which wasn't bad, I did get to participate in that as well, but once the Pokemon craze passed and I felt like the only one who still cared because I was the only one I knew who played the games, it was pretty sucky.

I'm now in college and I have a really good friend who also loves Pokemon just as much as I do, and it's great to finally be able to share the experience with the games with someone else. I am certain you will eventually meet someone like that too.
