2IV staryu from friend safari + 2iv ditto (different stats)

To go up to a 3iv:

(1/2)^3*(3/6+1/32)*.6 = 6.48% (50% chance of IV inheritance, 3/6 +1/32 chance of the random IV not being your target IV plus the 1/32 chance of rolling a perfect IV, 60% chance of HA passing on)

to go up to 4iv from 3iv

(1/2)^4*(2/6+1/32)*.6 = 1.367% of those them will help to get to the next step

to go to 5iv (assuming you now use a ditto with overlapping max stat to ensure at least one stat is always max)

(1/2)^4*(1/6+1/32)*.6 = 0.742% of obtaining a 5iv HA starmie from your 4iv starmie and a 2iv ditto

To get to 6iv 0 in attack from your 5iv ditto and a 2iv ditto (now with two redundant max stats)....

(1/2)^3*(1/6)*.6*(1/32) = .0390625% of getting your perfect 31/0/31/31/31/31 HA Staryu from your 5iv staryu


That doesn't even include collecting the dittos, etc.
