I'd imagine Skitty is THE best for your main. Cute Charm means ANY pokemon that hits you has a chance to be stunned for awhile, you get Doubleslap, which is beyond broken when you take into account STAB, you get Sing, and that's all you really need. Partner can be whatever the fuck you want, because of that.

Joyous Tower Skitty is the deadliest enemy in the game. Levels befitting a floor 80 pokemon on floor 25, and all that means that unlike Kecleon, you can't prepare or grind for that.

I just kinda used my main, a Wooper that was buffed to hell and back. Buff your attack and level so fucking high that your normal attack will 1shot, and then just farm. EQ is bad, you'll kill Kecleon's that are far away, and they can't be far away to recruit them. You need a Friend Bow, and the Escape Orb will NOT work on the floor you stole from. Sit on the stairs, farm from there, and bring extra reviver seeds in case the recruited kec eats it a few times before you leave the floor

It's very useful, but only works on moves with range "foe in front" which don't cut corners, and depending on how you're positioned it can pass on moves to your teammates.
Your main problem is not getting exp. for the enemies the passed moves defeat, which can be particularly bad in level 1 dungeons. Don't rely on it too much.

There may be complicated matters behind it, too, like you might need other connections that are found by other means. I didn't go too much into it, I don't even remember if I had Victini or not.

Whilst Super Mystery Dungeon is the most difficult entry into the series, it's also the most fair. It gives you the largest number of options about how to deal with the challenge, and also punishes you the least for failing.

I think SMD is the best PMD to date, but I agree that a few things were a little odd.

The ending was bizarre and nonsensical, the big bad of the game was rehashed from GTI and the pacing was confusing because the boss progress bar didn't sync up with the actual story progression.

Not to mention all of the M. Night Shyamalan-esque twists...

But outside of that, the difficulty is the best, the characters are at the very least on-par with TDS, the world is believable, the quest system is the best in the series, there's no grindy IQ system, consumables are easier to come by, and though I haven't completed the epilogue yet I've been led to believe that the post-game of SMD is fantastic.

The final battle is described as your partner's fight.

The point that really sold it was when your partner was the one jumping for the tree, literally spring-boarding off the PC.
