I use a load of flying types and I still think this shit is pointless

It's fine if you happen to enter it at one of the times of day where there's no wind, and actually a pretty cool route if you happen to lead with a Ghost type.

But it's literally the worst shit ever if you don't happen to have either of those apply to you.

The two large riding Pokemon routes are pretty terrible too with their awful controls. Skiddo one is great and I wish you could ride one everywhere.

I think the interest will have died out by then. But the normies who stuck around will probably be invested enough to tolerate unfamiliar pokemon. Which is probably part of the long term plan.

If you mean as in-game play, then no! that's a terrible idea

If you want to do that, then do it. No need to force other people to. They can 'truly express themselves' more easily using whatever pokemon they want to. I'm playing through white 2 with a bug team on challenge mode, just about to take on the water gym. The first couple were a little harder than usual but by the time I got to the flying gym the type disadvantage didn't matter despite being 4-5 levels below her best pokemon.
