The encounter rate is literally 1% in certain areas, yes. It gets up to 20% in later areas.
Honestly the encounter rates in general are pretty bad for new Pokemon and Alola Forms. It's probably my biggest problem with the games

IIRC even in XY the encounter rates for new pokemons were pretty low, or lower than the ones of older pokemons anyway. It probably compensates for the low number of them.

Anybody else having issues getting the game to run on custom firmware? Never preloaded and installed the leaked .cia through fbi and when I launch it it shows the 3ds logo and just hangs forever.

Moves with 50/60% accuracy now hit definitely every other turn and miss definitely every other turn. i.e. Turn 1, Hypnosis works, turn 2, doesn't, turn 3, etc. so basically you have to keep track of what turn you're on.
Likewise for 70/80% moves, it will definitely miss every 3rd turn.
90+ now always hits no matter what.
How would this change the meta /vp/?OHKO moves either removed or only hits on every 10th turn cause why not?
