No, Gen 6 is the blandest. Gen 7 has the best cast of characters, story and presentation. Gen 6 has nothing other than the best online functionality maybe.

Nah, DPP part of gen 4 still hold that title. Sun and Moon had a great story and characters, but absolute trash new game mechanics and minigames. There is 0 things to do after completing the story, the festival plaza is a mess tryign to imitate the awesome mall from BW2 etc.
