I can't help but feel like the splitting of routes is an allusion to Japan's relationship with the west. You have these traditional Japanese figures that act as your actual family, but the MU was raised under western influence. Hoshido represents traditional Japan and nationalism. Nohr attempts to entice the MU with big-titted women and aggressiveness to the western side, representing western influence in Japan. The correct choice, according to IS, is to not give into westernism and embrace traditional Japan.
