I see some still believe that all reploids are made for one purpose only.
21XX is a future where reploids and humans share the same society, so who's to say that reploids can't choose what they want to do, based on their skill set? A reploid is created, perhaps "adopted" and raised like I detailed a couple of days ago, and then, much like a human, it can choose a profession to aim for, based on its skills and the world around him, or other reasons. X chose to be a Maverick Hunter because Mavericks were being dicks and he wanted to help.

My headcanon (heh) is that Alia and the other navigators were normal reploids, who decided to help the Maverick Hunters by becoming Navigators for them. They were then equipped with full navigator gear.

They're robots who can take on different jobs, there is a good chance their design is modular. X can switch between his different armors, and many reploids can transform as well. The fact that Alia fights sometimes in X8 doesn't mean she doesn't have boobs.
So, reploids are made human-like so they can live in harmony with humans (heh), and they possess a modular design that allows them to switch parts. Why would they NOT be equipped for human-reploid relationships, or for that matter, relationships at all?

I watched part of an X8 live stream toward the end and it reminded me of how surreal it was years ago before I owned or played the game to see some low quality clips of the ending. The change is even more noticeable now since I just re-beat X1 a couple hours ago.
X8 doesn't have my favorite art style and I think Lumine was a bit of an asspull at the end, however fun he was to fight, but I wish we could have seen a continuation of the series that would at least show that what happens in X6 onward (minus Command Mission) can be considered canon in regards to the series that follows after it. Like some continuation of the Copy Chip arc in one or two games and then a conclusion to it in another that would wrap up Axl's story somehow to explain why he isn't in MMZ.

I was going to add a weapon from the start, I just didn't add it to the sketch so I could figure out how it would work.

You typically need to attract the sparks before sliding under them or close enough instead of always trying to slide under them (like if the Capsule teleports halfway the screen, move to either its right or left, jump on that direction and the sparks will try to home in on you there; then you can dash into the opposite direction because they've been led differently enough from your position)

Glad I'm not just an idiot. I really dislike any fight that has things falling from the ceiling. They always feel like complete chance. I only managed to dodge the Capsule's attack once. I think I used 4 E-tanks on it or something ridiculous. I know they wanted to make it really difficult but god damn.
Whatever, most of the levels were great and the boss fights were outstanding. Burstman and Shademan are probably my favorite fights in the series so far. New look took some getting used to.

You can definitely learn Slash Man, but even then it's still the hardest and there is a lot of luck involved.

Here is the deal: when you either get goo on your head, or if you get stuck on goo on the ground: mash ALL the buttons as fast as you can. When I say, all, I DO mean all, as it seems that every button input makes a difference (I could probably look at the code to make sure of that), so mash the d-pad, B-A but also L-R. If you do it right you can get out exceptionally fast and often avoid getting hit.
Protip: this mashing thing also works for other things: like when burnt by fire attacks or when frozen (Turbo Man, Freeze Man, Wily Capsule). I swear to god I've already made it out of burning state only taking 2 dmgs.

So that's another protip for the Wily capsule, if you realize you're fucked and are going to get hit by the projectiles, you're better off being hit by fire so you can quickly get out of it with minimal hp loss.

For the wily capsule shots, there isn't much else to say. It's all about tricking the shots so they go where you want them to go and they become easier to dodge, but it's still hard to do because it's fast. For instance, when they appear, do a small jump before their movement. That way they'll only move a little on the Y axis, and you'll be able to slide away from their 2nd movement. This works most of the times. If you're surrounded when they spawn, like 2 shots on your left, two shots or your right, that's the easiest one to avoid: do a small jump in between them and then slide away.

For using Wild Coil against the capsule: if you forgot to charge them, it's better to open/close the weapon menu, while holding the B button when closing it, so that you can charge them without firing one and wasting energy and time.

Don't forget to hold up when releasing the W.Coild, they'll go higher up that way.

If you have MMLC2 you can train against Slash Man and Capsule through the museum and challenge menus.

Wily Machine before the capsule is definitely much easier to learn so try to learn to flawless it so you'll enter the capsule fight with max hp.

Forgot to say about Slash Man: obviously the key to avoid his wall-dashes is to leave space so you can slide away at the last moment.
This can however be tricky when there is goo all over, so try to keep track of WHEN the goo that it's in your way appeared, so you'll know if they disappear before/when you slide.

Also, sometimes there is no choice but to dodge towards the direction Slash Man is. It's not self-evident to do that at first, but when it's the only way, trust me it works, if you do it you just need to wait the last moment to make sure you slide, or be ready to cancel your slide, because once a while Slash Man will simply fall down the wall rather than dashing towards you.

Ya I got the Wily Machine down with no hits. Hell I got every boss except Slash and Freezeman? Whatever the ice guy was, and that was mostly because it was so much faster to just get hit. I was worried about 7 with the visual change and other small changes that came with that but the boss fights were incredible. Hoping 8 manages to keep that pattern, though that one gets a lot of hate so I'm concerned.

Make sure to try Mega Man & Bass when you're done with 8 too. Play the Super Famicom version with a translation patch. MM&B's design mentality is a bit different and it's definitely more challenging, both within levels and with bossfights.

Buddy and I are playing through every main series. So MM, X, ZX, Megaman Zero, Legends, BN, SF.
So far we've been trading off robot masters, then doing the reverse during the rush so we get every boss each. At X4 onward we'll each pick a character to play through ourselves. We also want to do every bonus/secret boss, though not necessarily 100% everything.

So my question is: Which games will require us to do separate playthroughs like X4 and which games have optional bosses? I think the BN series is full of those right? I want to make sure not to miss anything.

Every X game from X4 onwards has multiple characters to play as. MM8 on Saturn has two extra optional bosss. Every single game in the Battle Network series has optional bosses, both during the main story and during the post game.
MMZ3 has a secret boss.
MMZX has a bunch of secret bosses that are just retreads of bosses from the Z series.
MMZX and ZXA each have different characters to play as. ZX doesn't change much, but ZXA has a couple of exclusive bosses to each character, but only at the start of the game I think.

Ah, I forgot about the Soul Unison and Cross System systems in Battle Network.
The two versions of Battle Network 4, 5, and 6 have different forms available depending on the version you play. This also affects bosses you fight. You'll have to play through both versions to fight all the bosses. This goes for Battle Network 3 as well, which also has a couple bosses exclusive to each version.
Battle Network 4 has to be played through multiple times in order to fight every boss, due to the Tournament System.

The first series was slow for the most part but it felt most like a BN adaption.
Axess using Cross Fusion more sparingly than Stream was a plus because it let internet battles remain prominent. Best use of the Power of Friendship.
Stream used Cross Fusion way too much and really shafted all of the Navis by making them all just transformation adapters. The main plot was alright but it wasn't a good adaption for BN.
