once your game becomes competitive in nature, it splits the userbase. Look at overwatch. You can either play ranked and get mad at everyone on your team or you can play casual and never have a fair game. God forbid you try to play with your friends.
pubg doesnt need to be competitive. This tournament is fine so long as no one gets this idea in their heads that it's the true nature of pubg. The fact that people are trying to win by healing outside of the blue zone on the other side of the map should be a good indication of that. pubg tournaments should always be full of teaming chinese and other bullshit strategies.
There are so many things that can go wrong to address these strategies, but nothing ever should. its a dumb strategy because pubg is a dumb game. thats all it should ever be. The moment the game balance is modified for competition, it starts on a road that will make the gun unfun

The chance for item X is the same for any loot spawn point. There might be a bug with items clustering, i.e the game fucks up and spawns multiple copies on top of each other/nearby which would explain motherlodes of meds or three k98's in the same compound but evidence for that is completely anecdotal at the moment and no statement by the devs has been given as far as I know.

explains pretty much why apartment complexes are so shitty, not every spawn point is active and there are only 5 spawns per "apartment" (+2 bottom floor +6 roof) and while a normal two-story house has ~10. Going from floor to floor in an apartment complex takes longer than going through 3 normal houses (~3½ roof included) side by side.

The mechanics aren't really explained, PU has only stated that there are no special preferences when it comes to spawn points, although there might be some limits to active spawns per building since apartment blocks feel like they have a lot less active spawns considering the amount of possible spawns per floor. Still, not counting possible clustering bugs, it's all about the spawn percentages and luck.

Swamp town/Gatka radio is one of my preferred landing spots and it in my experience it varies just as much as any other spot.

Once you add a competitive mode you get people who play bad on purpose in the casual matches and full on tryhard ragers in the competitive matches.

I think the same thing about Overwatch, the only way to have a normal match is by playing competitive but you're forced to play with meta slaves.

It doesn't help that Blizzard can't into balancing and both teams always have the same composition.

Used to have like every 4 Rounds one in Solo or Duo.
But honestly, I stopped giving a fuck and try to hunt players. It isn't as fun to wait 15 Minutes with sometimes driving to the circle, get a good spot and camp there until there are just 4-5 People left.

Get a SMG and a Rifle, alot of Meds and Smokes and a car and play super passively. And when you're actually getting to a very small circle, just start ODin if you have any painkillers and throw smokes if you think someone saw you. Then wait for the Zone to kill the Enemy while you're healing yourself every 10 Seconds.
Always wait for the Enemy to come to you.
Defensive Position is always easier.
That's atleast how I most of the time got my chicken dinners in solo, which isn't fun at all.
