Hello /haniho/, as per your advice I purchased Rance 6 about a week ago and played the ever living hell out of it and loved every minute of it. Now I see that Sengoku Rance has a fan translation but it also has a pending official translation by mangagamer. Would you recommend waiting for an official translation of Sengoku Rance or is the fan translation good enough? I can always play other Rance titles while I wait on the official translation if need be.

I would recommend playing Sengoku now if you want but if you do love the characters its worth trying out all the games before VI and Kichikuou Rance.

I'd recommend reading the Rance I digest, playing Rance 2 (one weekend play), playing Rance III and IV (one weekend and two weekends respectively), doing whatever for 4.1 and 4.2 and then playing Kichikuou Rance.

so I've played daibanchou quite a couple of times over the years, captured whole map but never quite actually beat the game technically so Ive got all the scenes except the ending ones and the ravi ones and I wondered how exactly im getting those.

If you captured the whole map, why haven't you beaten the game? Should be pretty easy to do. For Ravi, I think she's a Hard Mode only character, so you need to clear it once, then you can access Hard Mode. Chaos Mode is that hardcore mode you mentioned, where you only use characters that you can clear and everybody is at war with you.

Lia seems to be submissive with Rance and dominant with everyone else, at least sexually. It's a wonderful best of both worlds that makes things like their tag team possible. Saki has high attack but a shit hit rate. Using her is kind of a gamble after the first two chapters. She's good at taking down Gokuren's bikers, since they have high health and no evasion.

Shorko has barely any attack but a high hit rate. She's good at stopping mid and close range enemies in their tracks early game when you don't have enough characters to reliably defeat every enemy that comes your way.

Both of them are redeemed by their skills, which level up along with Erika's. I wish the other semi-generic also had skills.

Not really. For what is important to the Rance plot is just the demons conflict and gods. The majority of the remaining story points are things that don't really need to be concluded, although a good amount of them likely will.

It having more of a branching story system also means it's easier to solve more stuff which may not fit together in one storyline.
