Hyde is just a normal guy who goes to school and doesn't like the uniform, he lives alone and fends for himself most of the year since his parents work overseas. He's kind of like Ragna in that he's nice, but where Ragna is nice to his family Hyde is nice to total strangers. He "protects" Linne from a group of thugs and offers to let her stay at his house, then later she saves him from the dark monsters that roam the Night. Linne explains what was going on and gives him a shorthand history of the Night, then tells him to kill her since his sword is the only thing that can. Hyde is like "alright I'll end your depression, but not right now, can you like train me since this stuff seems pretty dangerous?" So Linne and Wald train Hyde on how to fight every day for a month.
During this time he ends up rescuing Nanase too, but she blames him for everything even though she would have died. He's also friends with Orie and Yuzu, but he feels awkward around Yuzu because of some unexplained thing that happened in their childhood.

Ever since CT I've always thought that Hakumen's face is supposed to be the flat part of his mask and that he's eternally gazing up towards the sky; made him seem unsettling and ominous. I get that it's supposed to be like a mirror, or a blank slate, but the idea that the guy that's kicking your ass isn't even looking at you and instead focused on some greater goal was a really cool concept, I thought.

As projectiles right? Except for the dog, his ghosts function closer to stands that change the S and HS moves as well as having different commands for each.
I like Arakune's design but the bugs summoned via negative edge is a turn-off.
