I have aging turned off for played households, and i age up families manually. I prefer playing immortal sims mostly, but for families i just age them up once i have had a fill of the age state, or they have maxed all the child skills and aspirations.
I am a very big fan of micro management.

I have like 7, keeps the game interesting and even then I keep wanting to make new ones. My first family was basically a self sim on long and it was fun but eventually it just became maxed career sims having a family. It's more enjoyable to make lots of sims and play alongside their lives, checking in and guiding them every now and then.

Though it's a bit sad to watch them all age up, especially if I didn't get to complete all the goals I had set for them.

Honestly I feel like this could be done really well if they didn't fuck around. TS2 had quite a few storylines that could have been made into a movie or some sort. Like the Smith family and the fake Bella.

The problem is they'd make it as self depreciating as the official Sonic the Hedgehog twitter and it'd be the painful to watch. Plus knowing EA they'd cut the movie up into 10 different parts and charge full price every time. It'd take a decade just to see a two hour movie.
