Any tips for the 3 Date mission? Watching it go from Shigenaga and his half dozen archers/gunmen to yokai'd Shigezane to Masamune was like three punches to the gut.

you mean way of the wise? definitely. things might change with a max level set of ethereal gear, but my experience in the first 5 regions so far has been anything that doesn't one shot you will usually do at least 60% of you hp. I suppose it depends how fast you get hp back by attacking but it seems like a big risk

oh yeah on way of the demon the build could work, with a properly upgraded set you can take quite a lot of damage and only a handful of boss attacks can oneshot or significantly chunk your health. Might struggle a bit in the dlc regions though with their significant increase in enemy strength.

I've found half my problem is I got used to being super aggressive and not really worrying about taking a few hits. So going into WotW where bosses potentially one shot you with half their moveset I got my ss whooped. I just started playing more cautiously like I was on samurai at the start again and I'm doing way better.

The first boss in the battlefield level, the one who floats around with dual swords. He fed his swords directly into my asshole for quite a while. But when you just evade his attacks he tires himself out and leaves himself wide open for attack.

You can only have one set attached to an item at a time. From what I've seen and like you said pre-existing sets in ethereal quality are just statisticla upgrades over divine. How big an upgrade I don't know but there's also the ethereal-only traits for weapons and armor. Non-set ethereal items apparently come as part of one of the new sets. There's a set for each element, general onmyo, general combat/spirit and being tanky.

I haven't found a lot of pieces yet but I think that's the jist of it. I'm kicking around ideas of mixing up different sets and how it might work but all I really want is a full Tsukyomi set with Yingyang Tonfa. I was going to upload some pictures of the sets I've found but I've been up all night and am super lazy.

So just started this game today. Been playing like six hours, still in the first level, trying to beat that boss at the ship. Any tips? What spirit should I use as living weapon? Oh yeah and how to farm elixirs here? I really cant do this boss with just three elixirs. Also, losing my mind to this ki pulse shit, this is honestly my only complaint so far for this game.

Find all the healing kodamas on the level and activate healer blessing, then kill stuff. Also donate all useless gear in shrine, this gives elixirs often

ki pulse will become your favorite part of the combat once you ingrain it in muscle memory and get used to the mechanics surrounding it like stance changing and flux.

If you need more elixirs, you can make an offering of gear you've found at a shrine and it will give you other misc items too, as well as some amrita.

I'd recommend practicing on him with just 3 elixirs before you do that, though

also, you can block his spin with any amount of ki and you won't take any damage. If it's a really slow move that will deplete your ki, but it has a long recovery, then blocking is always an option.

A few of the sets I've found seem to be all about building around a particular element.

Like grace of kagutsuchi. 3pc augments file status 34.3% which means it inflicts it on enemies faster. 5pc then boost recurrent damage by 20%, 7pc boost fire damage by 50%. if you coupled that with good armour effects, fire accessories, and a powerful fire weapon in the right situations it could be extremely good. The other sets are similar in how the further compliment the elemental type. I have a few different Grace's but none of them are really standing out to me right now, especially considering how difficult it is to farm them. I'll probably give them a go once the next DLC drops, hopefully then we can forge them ourselves and take some of the bullshit grind out of it.

daiba washi is really good for farming and has the best guardian attack in the game, which you can use by either a guardian spirit talisman which replenishes when you rest at a shrine (just like dark souls casting), moment talismans which are consumables, or by pressing X + O while living weapon is active. It's an aoe knock up that will put any humanoid on the ground for a free final blow.

kato boosts the living shit out of your stats with more close combat damage, ki, ki regeneration speed and skill damage. He's the best, and probably most boring spirit in the game and only requires 10 spirit to unlock all passives.

I'd recommend daiba for the equipment drop rate and luck, personally.

Yes it is. Kato is great overall and Isonade is the best guardian for someone freshly starting the game. Daiba is only good for farming gear and gets completely overshadowed by Mizuchi you get like 2-3 missions later.

Anyone else on wise just completely disregarding their amrita now? You don't really get a lot for just clearing levels normally and when you need 100m+ to level up it just seems kinda pointless. Depending on how much I can get for a amrita farming run of marobashi I might try to get to around 400.

Mirror is the best accessoory by far. It could have that reflect stat alone and I'd still never take it off

I really hope they include some way to organise and separate gear. I've got a few sets I have levelled and want to keep, but putting it in the storehouse just mixes it in with the trash +divine gear I use for soul matching, as well as the random gear with top tier inheritables I want to keep. Some way to tage items as a set so you can rapidly just hit one button and it loads you out in a full set of gear. Same thing for respeccing. I'd respec way more but it's such a pain in the ass having to go through all the skills and re allocate everything, being able to quickly do that with presets would be cool.

But anyway, OP builds. My first idea would be a simple Fanatic/critical/Suzaku/GS spammable/LW setup, used it before and it just mows everything down with almost no risk of dying. No idea how well it can work in WotW if everything one hit kills you though.

I did with switching between different guardian spirits. Throwing the first guy in the air with a spirit talisman and doing a killing strike, then quickly killing the first two waves of adds, then finish him off quickly enough to keep the third wave from spawning. Wind spirit for Shigezane, making me able to tank his damage and kill him with enough damage boosts.

Now Masamune is as tough as ever, kept his damage low with wind and weaken melee weapon and just slowly exploited his openings till he fell.


Same goes for WotW, without weaken melee weapon and wind I'm lost. Every enemy onehits me otherwise.

I've already said this but in WotD and below you can basically just spam kunais into the faces of whatever you want to die.If you want to get tricky you can hit the rear for more damage but it is not needed. It's total ez mode, you never runs out of shit to throw either. I never used it pre nerf, but considering how hard it stomps up to WotD now it must've been absurd beforehand.

In WotW it changes thoguh. You can still just spam 2 win at most mobs, but killing the red phantom version of the stronger yokai either needs a weakness talisman, or you getting behind them otherwise it takes forever. For boss you really have to get behind them for your shots, otherwise you only do about 1% damage per shot and it takes forever. Weakness+storm kunai to the rear of bosses still demolishes their hp though. You basically just play throwing weapons as if they were a normal weapon with how you dodge in, get close and dodge out.

It really is. Player level matters less than gear does, but ~200 is still fairly low for WotD. What level and + level is the gear you are using? Is it some crappy light armour with no set bonuses at all? have you done the cheap spirit iron reforging to get a few decent effects? There's a lot of simple stuff you can do without having to farm or contract autisim to improve you survivability.

there's a few ways. use guardian spirit talismans to knock them off their feet, killing strike them on the ground with a spear, then quickly hit them in the back with the spearfall skill which knocks them down again, repeat. even at level 1 if your spear is decent you can do that 3-4 times to kill them. or you can use 2kat and sign of the cross, or ninja groundfire traps, or living weapon...

Yes. You can either search to visit someone or both come together in Yokai with a companion, which is essentially the more pure form of co-op. Instead of just being summoned and when you die you go away and they try for someone else; in YRWAC you both have a shared meter that depletes when either of you die and when it reaches zero you both lose the entire mission.

your agility is dependant on what % your weight is at. 30% is A agility, <70% is B agility and is fine most of the time, just use low stance for dodging. >70% is fatrolling. I find trying to strictly iframe through stuff to be quite unforgiving, you have much less iframes than bloodborne for example. You instead use dodges to preemptively dodge through boss attacks, or dodge around and away from attacks. I'm fairly certain there are a ton of attacks that there to catach you trying to iframe through too.

so enemies on wise have knockdown resistance now. how the fuck am I supposed to farm marobashi in a timely manner? You can only use a knockdown spirit talisman once and they are immune to the effect for a short period after. the spearfall combo doesn't knock them down anymore either they just hyperarmour and roll through it. I can parry my way through but that's slow as fuck because you only get one short combo from it anyway. plus it's risky since a ton of attacks can oneshot.
