Although I'd at least add (my own gay opinion) that LC is fine with the right people. But more often than not a /vg/ guild will have an abundance of NOT the "right people" to be able to make LC work.
It's the best system by far for an established guild that knows each other and puts in the effort to ensure each item is going towards guild progression, especially at high end competitive stuff (which should be a meme on private servers anyhow). None of that really applies to a /vg/ guild which makes loot council a mostly retarded choice - and if a /vg/ guild continued to argue FOR loot council then it's a good bet they aren't arguing with random raidmembers benefit at heart.

Loot Council is a good loot system for a clique guild but not even for a vg clique guild since even the clique here doesn't trust each others
Every new servers and almost every raids, there is drama about it, the easiest thing would be to stop adding guild with discord on the OP but this isn't going to happen, so warning people is the only thing you can do now

Currently leveling a warlock on a TBC server

I feel like a total god, I'm soloing everything and doing insane amounts of damage, nothing has even come close to killing me or my pet


Did TBC completely nerf vanilla content? I'm only level 34 but I've yet to die and have soloed all elite quests up to this point.

tier sets were the same across specs and there was no alternative versions, but it was still all pretty much the best you could get, because in vanilla "some set bonus that might be useful" was better than not having a set bonus at all, and the kinda scattershot stats across the pieces still ended up hitting most of your core stats regardless

gotta remember that this was back in the day when blizzard was good, it wasn't like D3 style wow like today. Effort was required to get shit like stuff that had set bonuses on it, wasn't just handed to you. It was also more like diablo 2 where one item could have a bunch of shit you might not use on it but also some shit you do use.
