Is TBC completely dead now? Is there really no hope? Warmane is obviously crap despite so many retards getting cucked into playing there, the scripts aren't even the worst part, the thing that really bothers me is that everything is post nerf (never mind all the little nerfs that came during the expansion, Warmane is running 2.4.3 with the 30% health nerf which pretty much trivialised everything including SWP).
Ares from Twinstar is no option, I tried their PTR and you notice right off the bat that a lot of stuff is not working the way it should be. I'd doubt that there will be noticeable improvements. Also they aren't the Kronos devs but other people.
Gummy was our last hope after Corecraft and now that he's gone, too, I feel like there's absolutely no hope for TBC. We're stuck with Feenix 2.0 aka Warmane.

A MMORPG is more than just raiding. The whole reason why people love Vanilla so much as opposed to later expansion despite A LOT of improvements in terms of balancing and class complexity is because the world is so alive and has a lot of interaction. Some of the best moments I had in WoW were random battles in Hillsbrad and STV. You cannot have that without a decent population. I think anything below 3k online doesn't feel like a real MMORPG. People hated the 12k online on Elysium when it launched, I loved it.

Cata dungeons weren't that hard if you weren't shit. I poopsocked my way to 85 the first day of release and used RDF to queue for heroics in greens with the minimum item level. Since the only other people level 85 were generally turbonerds like myself, we were able to clear every heroic. There were wipes of course, but we figured out the mechanics and made it through. Once the wrathbabies made it to 85 and clogged up the RDF queue with their shittiness, I stopped pugging and only ran with my guild, like most tanks/healers did

Hunters were not nearly as bad in my experience. Been awhile since I played wotlk, but I don't think pet growl in wotlk is a straight taunt, so it doesn't matter much if a huntard leaves it on. At worst he tab targets and pulls extra mobs but whatever. Boomkins were often 'lol so randumb xD' fags and usually terrible players but short of starfalling extra mobs they had far less ability to annoy you. Ret paladins were usually shitters who would never cleanse/bof you and just spam buttons to puke dps all over the mobs, but unless they left righteous fury on they weren't too annoying.

DKs were just the worst. I think when the RDF first came out there was no cooldown on kicking people, so at least you could just summarily remove everyone who sucked

If you just want one to run around in by yourself to explore or whatever, google something like 'wow 3.3.5 private server repack.' you should find some easy ones to install on your PC. You can get "donation points" by donating real money and people are selling those for ingame gold, so almost. There are really a few things about the server that make it feel like a freemium shitshow. One being that it's a meme server that simulates vanilla experience sans the builds but at the same time you can pay to get all the quality of life stuff you'll ever want.
You even have people passive-aggressively defending themselves on worldchat when someone calls them out for their p2w, like any shit server does.

That being said I plan on playing there more. The concept is too much fun to ignore.
