I tried to get my girlfriend into WoW because I've been playing it off and on since the beta and it's an important game to me. She comes from a background of gaming and we play MOBA's and shit together so she understood the basic concept.

I couldn't get her into it because she kept complaining that it was too easy. We made it to the 30's (and I wasted $25) but she just seems to hate every second of it so I gave up.

Is it just impossible to bring people into the game at this point? It's hard for me to argue with her about it when I don't enjoy it either and when every mob dies in seconds and the dungeons just are plowed through as fast as possible with people wearing heirlooms. How do you convince someone to stick around till end-game?

Can do 100% of their DPS while moving, almost all of their leggos suck so you can use a combination of pretty much any two and do very well, has a soak ability, feign death, and can bring a lust/battle rez pet. this kinda goes to my point. a lot of people are unviable because they don't have the proper legendaries or they can't play their class, this makes pugs living hell.
you're looking for people who have the right legendaries in the subsection of people who can execute the fight properly in the subsection of people who can play their character.
thus the chance of actually assembling a successful pug is ridiculously low. which is why i suggest they nerf the enrage timer or buff the legendaries. that way, you'd only need 2 checkmarks instead of 3, which increases the chance of finding a proper pug by orders of magnitude and makes pugging a lot more enjoyable.

also, there's still mythic where blizzard can go crazy with difficulty and it's ok.

Engineering/Tailoring or normal professions for alts?

I ask because engineering mounts/tailoring garrison bags make mad gold. Will I be missing out if I dont run other professions?

A lot of people are afraid of tanking because they're afraid everyone will be looking at them when they fuck up.

Truth is tanks get an incredible amount of leeway outside mythic raiding. My friend was dealing with a tank who kept running out of melee range during that giant worm in Nelth Lair, but kept trying to argue otherwise even though he kept doing the spew when no one is in range. The dude somehow manages to get into high level runs regularly.
