I tried dragging and dropping pp files from the pre-installed folder to the folder that the game uses, no dice. I think I got the terminology wrong when I said slot 5, basically the break happens on the second row of the clothing list, where the teacher outfit is supposed to be. The Google doc is calling this slot 3, I think? Not sure why it's called slot 3, but whatever.

AA2Decrypt is not a program you run. Drag a pp onto it to make a folder of the pp's contents. Drag a folder of pp contents onto the exe to make a pp.
Slots start at 0, the 4th icon is "slot 3."
If you post a screenshot of where the problem starts it is more useful and faster than us guessing.

You fix the official file's fucked up local list, following the instructions on what is wrong about it in that page of the doc.
But most of the time (read "every time") that file triggering its error is a sign that you have ANOTHER local list fucked up somewhere, but you haven't said what your mods are yet so I'm not going to try guessing what old broken mod(s) you may have.
