Deleted my old manual install, used the preinstall, deleted my pre install and unzipped it again.
Updated my graphix, tweaked my graphix.
killed my browser before hand, tried the fix for running browser at the same time.
my autism cannot be sated until I get this damn thing to work.

Your registry could be set up incorrectly. I got the game to work with a white screen when I pointed both editor and game into the editor directory in registry.
Other than that I dunno. I also remember there was an issue with people who had Nvidia Geforce Experience installed couldn't play because it interfered. So by that token, maybe things like Windows 10 game mode could also cause it not to work.

I haven't updated this game since late 2015 and now I see this AAU thing.
My PC is really old now though and I've already burned out 2 laptop fans just playing AA2 the past years. Does AAU improve or completely ruin performance? Looks like its just a simple poser, but mods like running like shit.
Is any of this new stuff that came out in the past year even any good or what? Is there anything that stands out as a must? Is it worth upgrading my install at all?

So with AAU you guys are no longer pressed for slots right? Does that mean the current collections include ALL of the previous hairstyles?
I recall that the collections had to get some of their hairs removed and shuffled around because of limited space and there was a card I like that I ended up not using because the hair that was on her was replaced. Would it be in the new one or is it still only a certain number?

HEXAHP and HEXAOC still have a limited number of slots. You'd have to check the readmes and the Google doc for more info on what slots those mods use and what hairs are in them. There's also the DoLLs hair pack that uses additional slots.

In a sense. The game is limited to 255 slots for each hair type. HEXAOC and HEXAHP use some of them and DoLLs takes up slots that the HEXA packs do not use. With AAU, you can ignore slots entirely on a per-card basis and do other crazy shit, e.g. having two side hairs or replacing a back hair with a separate hair piece of your own choosing

If you're using MCP or something, make sure the mod is properly installed - uninstall and reinstall it. If you're also using 3D Rooms, make sure you have the patch. If you have it, the order should be uninstall patch/uninstall MCP/reinstall MCP/reinstall patch
If you're not using MCP, make sure the appropriate .pp files are not corrupt. Back up your current ones and replace them with files from the pre-install, and see if that fixes it.

Friend's having an issue, didn't see it on the technical help page, the game plays fine, up until it changes to talking to a character, or say class starts, then the game sort of freezes (audio is fine), but if he alt tabs out and back in then it's just a black screen.

Yup works great after clicking around for a bit. The unfortunate thing is that the belt portion works best with textures that have solid colored belts. Any other texture, it will warp it oddly. But I assume it probably wasn't meant to have a texture.

However, you can go "noticeably" wide without any problems but then mouth height becomes a problem with clipping too. We'll have to see.

For anyone thinking of using the Translated Personality Names mod from the pastebin (i.e. probably nobody except myself), the version linked there is currently broken. Only the DLC personality names will be translated, because whoever made/uploaded the mod accidentally messed up the file path for the AA2Edit data directory - instead of reading "AA2_MAKE\jg2e00_00_00" like it should, it reads "AA2_MAKE\jg2e_00_00_00", and thus the mod won't actually work.

Oh. If you customize your sliders you can make the biggest changes to the bones that the hands do move with in the animation while making smaller changes to things that don't move the hands. This allows big butts which cannot lie but also which do not consume hands.
