Well it's best enjoyed on a 25/50 STR/ARC build or over meta level with 25/25 str/skl, but it's alright on an ARC build with minimum strength. Your best damage will come from beams though, so you'll be using those mostly, but those are really fun and do insane damage when you hit with both the blade and beam too. I use it on a STR/ARC and an ARC only build and they're both fun, but the former is better.

Is the Saw Spear worth upgrading and using through the game? The skill weapons seem shit in BB, I have to say, at least unless they're combined with another type as well. The Threaded Cane feels so weak, I know it's meant to be versatile but it's just not fun.

I think I'm just shit at BB but none of the bosses feel like tutorial bosses to me. I honestly died more to Cleric Beast than I did to Gascoigne, and I died more to him than I did to most other bosses in the game. I think I died to Cleric Beast more than Gehrman or anyone else. Contrast with DS1 where I could do Asylum Demon or Taurus Demon while only half looking at the screen, talking to friends, and eating a snack.

It's also entirely possible to miss Cleric Beast especially if you only play the game once. I killed Gascan as my first boss and BSB as my second boss, didn't find Cleric Beast until after Witch of Hemwick and Amelia. I imagine some people never find this boss because he is optional.

For me, the larger, more erratic and kind of messy-looking bosses in this game are really confusing. Paarl, BSB, CB... Though I did actually do Amelia first time and BSB first time because I got there a bit later than you're meant to.

I don't know what you guys consider the harder bosses in general, but for me I died more to CB than to Rom, Gehrman and One Reborn *combined*, for example.

Since stats in BB don't govern some resistances like they do in DaS3, such as high Str giving a marginally better resistance to Fire, could you try without any garb or weapons? Right after you get hit, run like a madman and check your health, and compare the two. Be sure you have the same amount of starting health in both situations, of course.

Anyone else wish we had more Old Yharnam-like areas in the game? Given our job as a hunter, it was nice to go through an area overrun with full beasts as opposed to slaughtering the local half-mad populace. Don't get me wrong, the cosmic horror aspect of the game was amazing, but I wish we had more beasts. Maybe that's why I prefer Loran to other dungeons, now that I think about it.
I just want to hunt the fully-fledged beasts without worrying about some old, crazy fuck trying to kill me with a Gatling Gun.

If you can, the only thing I can say that bugs me about even the original guide is there's a ritual 4 in ailing loran that is actually just a world pickup, not in a chest, right before beast claws, I always end up reading the original guide and fucking up on where it is only to realise it's right there. It never tells you where it picks up from, so I'd always be searching for some chest I missed, I hate having to scour the entire layer picking up every molotov and pebble till I remember where it was

if you can add a little footnote to that one like (non chest pickup before claws) that would be awesome
